For what it's worth, I've heard that vehicle access onto the upper stope at the French Mine has been fenced or gated off. It's still a great area to visit and hike around. It is unfortunate, as the area loses it's secrecy more and more people who don't hold the area with the same level of...
I'm in for sure. Monday is a holiday up here, so I'll even have am extra day off. I'll be making the run as a bachelor too. My Wife is staying home with the dogs this time. Can't wait, should be fun.

If you find yourself travelling through Hope, make sure to stop at the Home Restaurant and have the Mountain Mushroom Burger. (it doesn't, however, come with fries..... Not to worry as you wouldnt be able to eat them anyways) Safe travels.

I couldn't make a labour day gathering, we do an annual pig-fest that weekend. I can appreciate if that ling weekend works fit others though. I'll keep an eye out for any BC'ers at the Northwest Overland Rally though.

When I decided to set up the Xterra for more overland and adventure type travel, a winch was on my list of must haves. I bought a Super winch TS9500 with synthetic line for ir around $500. I consider a winch an insurance policy against what troubles I might find I get myself into. For me...
Checking in from Penticton. Would be interested if the timing works out. We will be going to the NW Overland Rally in June, and the OB Washington get together on a stage of the WABDR in August too. I'll certainly keep an eye on this for plans. Cheers.

A set of V8 Pathfinder M205 axles that arrived this morning from...
What a great idea. I have my pass and could certainly offer it for a loan-out if the timing works. We are in the Okanagan on Hwy #97, and while their are no National Parks close by we could be on someone's route heading either north or east into the Kootenays.
Yes, I thought this particular video was among the best you have done. The cozy almost unplanned feel, the soundtrack, and the back and forth commentary (along with the cameo by Jon Snow) made for a great overall package. As we were watching it, my Wife commented on how she is looking forward...
I know I need another long tow strap added to my kit. I keep a few basic recovery straps, shackles, and stuff under the back seat all the time. I also have a recovery box with tools, and more recovery gear, wood blocks, gloves, tire plug kit and such that always goes out if we are on an...
Hey, I'm driving a 2005 Xterra, lifted, ARB bumper, rooftop tent on top right now. Shitty little snow tires on for the winter (they always look funny) but normally run 33" KO2's. Always working on adding stuff too. So there is a guy in Summerland who drives a Taco and has an OB member badge on...
