Princess Molly , our gentle deaf BC Husky mix, and her brother Ichabod Crane, the amped-up Catahoula mix. We brought Ichabod into our home as companion for Molly, and he has been fantastic to and for her. He is her Sheepdog....nothing, and I mean nothing would get within harm distance of her...
My previous rig was a built Xterra (built well for our needs I guess) I chose it based on it's solid design and reputation, utilitarian interior, and for some reason I always tend to shy away from what's the popular route to go (ie: Jeeps and 4Runner's) The Xterra also had good towing capacity...
The last item I installed was a drivers side grab handle (mainly for the Wife) on the Tundra. I sure love my truck, but for the life of me I don't know what they would stop installing these. My old Xterra had appx. 75 grab handles.
Yes, I think the thing I appreciate about their video's is the completeness of them. The cinematography, narration, etc....you can tell they know what they are doing and enjoy it. I feel it's like watching (and listening to) a Warren Miller movie. The only other adventure type videos I enjoy as...
So as we try to simplify and condense our "apparatus" for our impending Four Wheel Camper I've been trying to decide whether or not I need/want/desire a skottle as a primary outdoor cooking surface.
The camper will have a two burner stove, but we have always done most of our cooking outdoors. I...
Adequate room it seems. A few inches between the fuel cans and the tailgate. There are 2 positions to mount it I the receiver, and I tried the closer one. The second would space it further away by an inch or two.

Slee sliders sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. These things are amazing. One of the reasons I went with Slee is that their sliders are not the tube style, so their shouldn't be any issues with the dogs getting paws stuck between rails. I also like the fact they kind of look like...
A quick pre-installation of my new Hitchgate. This thing is beefy, and extremely well built. It is exactly what I was looking for.

Did a couple things today. A very simple and quick mod first; addition of a driver's side grab handle. Don't know why Toyota decided to scrap this year's ago, its a great addition, especially for my vertically challenged Wife.

Thanks. So I spent considerable time deciding on which brand of suspension to go with. Honestly, I had a bit of a windfall to fund the upgrades, so budget wasn't the primary concern. I wanted to do it up right the first time with quality components. I went with ADS Racing adjustable coilovers...
Well, I got the call from my US drop ship place just across the line that my Hitchgate has arrived. I love good news. Heading down Wednesday to pick it up. Also have a new backup camera to pick up as well.

And this is why I come to places like here for information and advice. Inquiries are always met with honest real world usable advice from people who utilize a "truck" for it's intended purpose.
Installed the Firestone airbags today. Was a pretty easy install. I had bolted in the lower Daystar cradles last weekend. I ran the air valves into the fuel filler pocket.

Thanks. It's a 3 year old lease return. I got it for a great deal. No way I would have bought new, this truck only had 65K km on it, and given the price allowed me to fund the modifications I wanted.

Up until a few months ago, our adventure rig was a well used, well built, well traveled Xterra. she took us pretty much everywhere we wanted to go, in one manner or another. I'm a DIY kinda guy so I spent countless hours here, and on the theNewX forum gleaning useful information on repairs, and...
