2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Build

Other than that, there was a small laundry-list of little crap to do: Knock rust off, paint with POR-15 License plate light Backup cam (with pig-tail to attach to the trailer's backup cam... wait did I mention the trailer?) Full brake flush and bleed (pedal was a little on the long side)...

2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Build

I haven't followed up in a while, but that first test run did find one issue besides just the fenders (which have been taken care of, as you can see earlier in the thread). The rear axle has so much travel and articulation, we found the end of the articulation of the heims on the end-links...

Welcome TJ, I'm TJ also. We're down in Lincoln but get out your way a lot. Also just my wife, 2 dogs and me. -TJ

Forget everything you think you know about the Nissan Frontier

Had to get the last word? Pot, meet kettle. -TJ

Forget everything you think you know about the Nissan Frontier

And my point, is you're on an Overlanding forum that largely stays on-topic and doesn't get into e-thugging. Yet, you open your comments by insulting Toyota owners (which probably make up the biggest percentage of OB-members as compared to any other single make, perhaps with the exception of...

2008 Super Duty Truck Camper Build

Very cool. Great use of the "dead" space you normally see with slide-in campers. -TJ

Forget everything you think you know about the Nissan Frontier

If you think I'm a person with TikTok you're sadly mistaken. The only "fantasy cliché" spewed here was "watch and learn ladies" and if that's your fantasy on a forum full of old overlandy dudes, I feel bad for you. -TJ

Forget everything you think you know about the Nissan Frontier

Almost all of them have decals on the sides. Great way to tell us you're immature and overly sensitive about owning a Nissan without saying "I'm immature and overly sensitive about owning a Nissan." -TJ

    99 dodge ram 1500

I think those 2nd Gen 1500s are one of the most underrated and overlooked platforms for an Overland build. Obviously the 2nd Gen 2500/3500s are less overlooked because of the Cummins and heavy duty running gear, but it seems hardly anybody considers the 1500. As I'm sure you know those 2nd Gen...

Overland Trailers - first-hand experience: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Well, I'm finally home on a weekend and got to mess with the trailer a bit. The previous owner was kind enough to include the other set of drums/hubs with the 5x5 bolt pattern to match my WJ. I went ahead and re-packed the bearings and swapped them onto the trailer. While I was at it I...

Overland Trailers - first-hand experience: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Gotcha, I think I got those links but I haven't looked into it too closely yet since it's been winter and we're pretty exclusively doing Glamis stuff during that season. I'll look back through those links. I have a weird schedule (or, life?) and am generally in the Bay Area Mon-Thurs, then...

Overland Trailers - first-hand experience: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Thanks, I really need to start putting some trips on the books... but the trailer will also allow me lots of spur-of-the-moment trips. Thanks, me too! I really think I found the "right" one. It's in amazingly great condition, has all the accessories I could need/want, is compact and light...

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

That's definitely my concern/question at this point: will I be able to use it on enough trips to justify the cost. I have sort of two different groups of friends that wheel/camp/Overland/whatever. One group will never do anything I can't take this trailer on. The other group, I don't even...

Overland Trailers - first-hand experience: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Yeah, I hadn't actually found this make in my search until the previous owner reached out. I really, really like the cargo basket design and the swing-out sink/prep area because it makes the overall thing smaller/lighter. It is indeed super clean and well kept. I also got a Max Coupler and a...

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

Yeah, with the height of my WJ a RTT wasn't really an option. I know I've said before I'm perfectly happy with a ground tent, but then this happened. ;) BTW it did come with a Max Coupler and all sorts of other good accessories too. -TJ

Overland Trailers - first-hand experience: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Here it is: It looks tiny on the RV-pad, lol. It'll probably go in the garage, but my brother-in-law had to pick it up for me as I'm down in the bay for work. I have power on the RV-pad, so if I do keep it out here I'll hook it up and get a good cover for it. I suppose once it goes on the...
