Here's mine:
I didn't get any good pics with the tire on, but those screen caps give you an idea. The tire is up and out of the way so it doesn't get clipped on drop-offs.

I haven't watched it yet, but was a big fan of the original (which wasn't even the original-original, the show actually started in '77). The "Specials" in the rebooted series were the best (in no particular order my favorites were probably the Afrika, Bolivia, Vietnam, and Polar specials... and...
3/8" drive mostly in my trail kit. I even have some 3/8 impact swivels (found an okay deal on some older SnapOn sets on eBay). On the trail impact swivels are awesome, you're always in some weird spot where you just need to ugga-dugga things out. Of course, use with some caution, as impacts...
Hey Overlandbound,
My winters are usually dedicated to other hobbies, so I don't have great winter Overlanding spots picked out. However, I really have the itch for to go on a trip in the next month or so. I don't mind snow camping and some cold weather, in fact I rather enjoy it. But all...
Yeah... we got away with more rear drop-out since obviously it's not a steering axle. The front is a bit more limited since the steering would get too wonky letting it drop more. All-in-all it's a great multi-purpose machine. It can run fast stuff with the bypasses and hydro bumps (though the...
Okay, time for a little update. Ever since Glamis season started, this thing hasn't been at the front of my mind. But I thought it was time to check in with my buddy doing the fender/body work. Good news: he's done! Here are some super-great, high production quality vids of the work...
There is a TON of data out there on Jeep axles... but it might help us help you if you told us little details like what year it is, what model (especially if it's a Rubicon), and even sub-model (for example, a JK Rubicon Recon has different axle tube wall-thickness, though the outside diameter...
And now you all get to laugh at my hideous exhaust leak. About the ONLY thing left original drivetrain-related are the exhaust manifolds, so of course they leak. I already ordered new ones, so that's the next thing to get addressed (along with the additional fender trimming):
She lives, and she's out in the wild. I picked it up from Shaver Lake on Friday and took it home to Lincoln (~230 miles), then drove it back down to Palo Alto on Sunday (~160 miles). This morning I took it down to Hollister Hills. A buddy of mine tagged along with his coworker who has a new...
I had that same grill, and it's awesome. But what are you planning to use for power? Anything you'd want to use the pellet smoker for rather than good old open fire or charcoal is probably something you want to cook low and slow, I imagine. Do you have a big enough battery bank and inverter...
That's all Xero Fab Works in Shaver Lake, CA for the bumper. He modded his usual thing a bit to fit the build. All the fab work and everything has been him.

Awesome WJ, we're really starting to get a decent group of Pac-North-West OB WJs! Here's mine:
