As per my WJ build thread, I didn't get to go camping this weekend as originally planned, but at least set the combo up and did some testing and got weights on it all. It sags a bit, but not a ton (it sits a little tail-low even w/o the trailer). I might look into a slightly stiffer rear coil...
Yeah, that's definitely the plan. They are a simple pin away from being removed. For the street, or basic fireroad stuff I'll leave them there, but anything more technical I'll take them off and throw them in the toolbox or in the firewood bin.

Do a search, you'll find tons and tons of threads on this topic. The short version: Overlanding is what you want it to be, so neither you or your friend are wrong.

I had a similar question lately: Overland Trailers - first-hand experience: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly
I ended up finding a great deal on a used teardrop, which I think is perfect for my use-case:
Unfortunately I haven't gotten to use it since I bought it because of work, but that should...
Have you looked around on the Taco forums and YT about late-model T4R and Taco reliability? I'm not sure I'd rank either as particularly reliable, especially if you count being able to shift into 4L, or a generally stable electrical system as part of reliability.

I said/meant front & rear, not just rear. Everything new can run on up to B20, AFAIK. Are you sure that Oregon is going to 100% Bio, or just ALL B20? I'd be really surprised if it's 100% Bio, rigs won't be able to supply Oregon anymore. RVs will be screwed (Oregon is a big RV state), etc.

Exactly.
@SalmonSlicer what is your style of "Overlanding" and off-roading? Will the vehicle be your only vehicle and daily driver? If so, what is your daily drive like? Do you plan a trailer, Roof Top Tent, or other heavy gear? Of those, I'd personally do the ZR2 for the factory...
Interestingly my driver's door window regulator just went out too. I had replaced it a few years ago, but just got a cheap Rock Auto unit. Got a Mopar this one time, hopefully it lasts a bit longer this time. Good info on the tail lights, I'm sure that'll be in my future too (as I prefer to...
Thank you sir. I won't share numbers yet... but just one note, I left that firewood in the tongue-basket and had the full 30 gallons plus all of my gear (SoloStove, shower/commode tent, solar panels, camp chair, camp table and all that included) in the trailer. Basically everything to camp in...

Getting ready to hit it with some paint underneath. Just a quick military-style spray after cleaning up some of the light surface rust that was starting (as seen/described above).

Awesome build, love those round-fender K-series trucks (and Blazer/Jimmys). It looks like it's come a long way in the year between posts. Perfect stance, and the blown, EFI small black is so cool. As great as LSs are (I have had a ton of LS vehicles, still have a blown LS7 sand rail) it's...
Yeah, I'm definitely leaving the upper vent alone, but we'll seal the bottom one (either gluing it shut, or riveting in a panel as you suggested).
As for the rust, it mostly just bugs be because I'm weird like that. But you're right, it's not an actual issue. There is zero actual body or...
Used WK2 Grand Cherokees (current generation) seem like a great deal in the market. If you look around, you can find crazy good prices on 5.7L Hemi Trailhawks which should be a great rig for you. Another option I'd look at are the V8 LR4s (the later SC'ed V6 ones aren't bad either, but seem...
Trans cooler getting mounted up. Nut-certs in for mounting:
We're going to epoxy that flap shut. I went back and forth on exaclty what I wanted to do there, but I think the right move is having it shut. The idea with the flap is when the vehicle is moving, it blows open to allow natural...
Thanks! It's getting really hard to find a clean WJ. I've helped a few buddies find/buy decent ones now, but haven't come across another this good yet.
Some progress on the axle-side sway bar end-link tabs. We had a buddy whip these up:
Welded up, added a mud/water drain (we ended up...
