I'm setup to do it as needed. Just tooling around I just run it on my cell phone but out in the woods away from cell signal I can hook up what I need to get a message out using a 40 dollar droid phone from Ebay and a handheld. I can make it work with my mobile too but it's a little clunkier...
Even on my motorcycle I still have about 60-80 lbs of total gear packed onboard for any reasonable amount of time. I'm able to obviously carry more in the Jeep but if I really needed to I could make it work with the stuff I carry daily plus a bag of spare clothes and food.
Interesting. An insurance place in Garland sells them I'll give them a call tomorrow and see if they still sell them. The owner is a Jeep guy so carries them for his clients. They just built a new OHV park I think last year. I wouldn't think it's collapsing but it's not like there's much OHV...
Decided to change mine up a little and move it into a 5.56 ammo bandolier. Put the murse back into service carrying spare magazines and a little bit of first aid gear. I've got a ton of these bandoliers around so need to find uses for them haha.

I've been following the thread over on JeepForum for a long time. Inspired me to build one which I got as far as converted my 8 foot folder to a 6 foot non folding flatbed but did upgrade axle/wheels and what not. Currently looking at upgrading the springs next to some standard type dual eye...
Ive got a GMRS repeater local to me. Its got a 40 or 50 mile radius on it depending on position. We dony have much but rolling terrain here.
They're certainly a lot less common than HAM units and some owners can be quite protective of them. But i get more conversations on it then my local...
My parents had one in a trailblazer. Good engine put a ton of miles on it and made good enough power for the Trailblazer.
OP dont' be too afraid of vehicles with higher mileage. If you can find one the previous owner kept a good maintenance history on even better. Get whatever brand you...

Like I said it's been a while but the last I hunted deer I researched it and was using an SKS at the time and remember loading it to capacity. The only birds I ever hunted around where I grew up...
I havent hunted in years. Im in Texas and if things are still the same you can use any centerfire caliber no magazine limit unless you're hunting migratory game birds.
Yeah i unsubscribed from their channel a year ago or so. It almost seems like an exercise in "how much money can you possibly spend" anymore.
I mean geeze at this point they're dragging a whole flatbed trailer for their paramotors.
CB is servicable when setup properly. The vast majority of...
That test while interesting is deeply flawed. Mainly in the fact they are comparing a bunch of handhelds with a hardmounted CB with external vehicle mounted antennas. The antenna is the heart of any radio install.
They put off a little but you'd need a pretty well sealed cab to hit levels high enough to kill you, you'd probably run out of O2 in a sealed space before a buddy heater put out enough CO to kill you.
I've got a Drager CO monitor I keep hanging off the spare tire in my XJ. The highest I ever...
