    Trail Security

I wouldnt mind seeing nationwide reciprocity. A marriage is good in all states. A driver's license is good in all states. And driving is not a Constitutional right. Problem is, there seems to be no minimum standard with regards to training and licensing I guess they'd have to come up with that...

On what exactly are you mounting those lights at the base of the windshield/back of the hood corners?

...and the front chinstrap removed... I'm following the same template. I leveled the front with Bilstein 5100's, removed the air dam under the front bumper, and am looking to replace my 265/65r18's with 33 inchers on 17 inch, 7 spoke rims.

Yeah, I love my 2014 Sierra as well. I have also thought about going with a 2500, since they even handle slide-ins like your Scout much easier. What's the lift and tires/size of that Sierra?

That Prospector is really a nice piece of truck!

I like your newer setup! However, as the current owner of a 2014 GMC Sierra with canopy camper, i have to ask: what was it that caused you to part with it? Seems like a nice truck. I know mine is.

    VA to VT

The Adirondacks and the Green Mountains are beautiful. Mt Mansfield up by Burlington is nice. Dont know if you happened through Woodstock VT, but from there you could head to White River Juntion and Queechee Gorge. Looks like you had a nice trip

    2020 Toyota Sequoia

Many times I thought that the Sequoia would be a great choice, either family vehicle or overland. Nice

Good. That should keep the price of full sizes down for those of us who enjoy them. To paraphrase a great old tune, "And if they dont want to know, forget 'em!"

Nice. The old big Blazers had those as well, cleverly disguised as a rear bench seat in front of the cargo area

Nice work on the repair. Cant see it. Even though I had thought about a big vinyl stripe like old school, I hadn't really thought of vinyl wrap for the shell. Good idea

    Straight Axels and Leaf Springs

Yikes! Define offroad I guess. Theres places where people live on roads that are no longer officially maintained. Are you saying that the farmer who buys a new Chevy work truck, and drives it along the edge of the field collecting bushels of corn to drive to market - he's voided his warranty...

Let's see those full size rigs - Trucks & SUV

Sweet score! Hard shell caps expand the usefulness of these trucks like mad! I have one by Leer with Trac Rac on top. It kind of makes these trucks into Tahoes and Suburbans with a solid partition between cargo and passengers. Color matching looks great, but I chose not to. I'm moving to an...

    Straight Axels and Leaf Springs

Leaf springs do sag over time and your 78 is probably due. You might get sway with some helpers. But keep in mind the difference between the job of the shocks vs the job of the spring. The spring allows the chassis to absorb bumps that send the wheel upward, while the shock keeps the wheels on...

    Straight Axels and Leaf Springs

Well, in your avatar I see a 1960's Ford and a 70's/80's era Dodge. So if your shocks are original, I'd say they are due to be changed. Kidding. I'm presuming you are driving something a wee more modern. I dont know how old your truck is so I can't speak to the springs but I 3rd the sway bar...
