Ok, Roarin'! You let me know when you plan on getting rid of that Silverado...

    2006 GMC Sierra aka “granopy”

Looks like a nice set of wheels! Nice comfy ride, I bet. At first I took umbrage at the "rust bucket east coast rig" comment, but then, even us in the Northeast prefer not to buy rust bucket, New England beaters. So, what can I say I always lamented that there wasn't a Havana brown during those...

That's all they did to prevent access? Go-go-gadget grappling hook!

Theodolite or Fire Finder mount would also be another guess

    Firetowers

Heliograph mount maybe - for signaling by light? Did you get a chance, while you were up there, to see what line of sight is visible from that spot? An old fire station in a town down below or another old tower location on another nearby hill?

    Overland east expo

I've been along rt 2/ Mohawk trail a little and this is true. However, it appears to me that several small collections of trails to the immediate north of route 2 may be an older version of the road. That or 2A may have been closer to the real original trail.

want to plan a true overland trip/experience 2021.. NY to ME..

Watching this thread for plans. I'm in New England. Was prepared to meet another member up in VT a while ago but life got in the way and the use of my truck was called for that weekend. Not having looked up exactly where all of those routes go, I reccomend getting up on top of Mt Greylock, Mt...

Mounting to Leer Camper shell Window Frame

Third! Judging by the difficulty I have removing my removable rear window glass (actually the front of the Leer camper shell), I would say no. Just the flex of the shell sometimes slightly deforms the window frame making it hard to remove even when the locks are undone. So that Toyota's layout...

    Firetowers

What's inside the cylinder? If ots deep, it might have been for a flagpole or weather station stand. If its shallow and there looks to be a spike hole in the rock itself it could have been for a support wire. I'm also curious if there are 3 others surrounding the old tower site

    2010 Silverado 4x4

Congratulations on the Silverado! Gotta say, though, the red Explorer looked pretty well set up. I did what you did. My immediate previous vehicle is a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 2 inch Iron Rock Offroad springs, Pro Comp 9000 shocks and Wrangler wheels. I more or less abandoned that in favor...

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

I just bought a set of 17 inch, 7 spoke steel rims with studded snow tires for my 2014 GMC Sierra. My next purchases will be in line with getting my 100,000 miles service needs completed Then I plan to replace those snow tires with 33 inch A/T tires. Ultimately I would like to turn this

Anyone still shooting some film stock?

Wow. I hadn't thought about FILM film for more than 10 years. I have an old Canon AE1 and a couple of Nikon N2020. Great cameras for thier times. I bought them used in the 1990's. And I used them well into 2010 or so. I used to use 400 speed Fujifilm. While I do enjoy the tactile book or...

    Trail Security

I'm not even sure "it's the time we live in." I grew up in the 70's and 80's and was having that drilled into my head even then. I think the more careful you are, the less likely you are to get hung up. Unfortunately, a person can be careless but unknowingly lucky for a long time, leading to...

    Trail Security

Not a bad idea. Unfortunately, these days, it seems someone might be as likely as not to be "offended" by your thin blue line and cause you grief BECAUSE of it...IBecause of all the recent upheaval, the town I work in just outlawed the thin blue line flag representations on our fire trucks...
