As for up top storage containers, I have a Leer camp canopy on the back of my truck so the storage is dry and safer. I use the roof racks on it for things like kayaks or whatever.
Regarding outside the vehicle firearms storage...I myself wouldnt do it. For the reasons @bgenlvtex listed. I...
I went back a few pages and didnt see/ dont recall posting here. But here is Scout the Thundah Beagle on top of mount Washington in one pic, hero posing in the other...
I bet it was pretty cool. I've been reviewing all the special editions of the square body era (oddly enough, considered the rounded edge when it was introduced) and the corresponding paint and stripe schemes. I may change my mind to sort of a photo negative of the GMC Dessert Fox (my GMC is...
Roger I'm just catching up here as well. I cannot imagine losing Scout the Thundah Beagle. I sure cant imagine losing two of him.
I suppose their lives being shorter than ours, we have to just appreciate the time we did have with them.
Right. This is life sending a warning shot across her bow. Better here than on I-90 at 80mph. I hope she gets it. I know that I was stubborn and it took me years to really become a courteous driver. That doesnt mean I'm not swearing in my car, it just means my actual driving decisions are more...
I think OTH and MadCrateBuilder are generally in line with my thoughts. I'm no professional overlander or anything, but I think that theory aligns with driving a 20-25 year old Big Blazer around daily and on trips across state lines...theres always something that's "just about ready to let go"...
Mine came with the soft tonneau cover. I liked it, but it wasn't secure at all. I took it off and put in a diamond deck cross box. I liked that too. Then I was planning a drive from New England to Montana and thought I'd sleep in the back. So I got a black leer cap for it on Craigslist. It's not...
Brand new driver. She had registered the car only 3 days prior, so no real driving experience. And yet she was driving a Honda Accord from within the last 10 years or so. For what used to be a little car, they have gotten very long and wide. She probably had no experience judging a hood that...
I do like a truck. And I do like and SUV wagon like the Blazer and Suburban or 80's Broncos. These truck cap, canopy campers make the truck so much more versatile and secure.
What did you secure the ends back onto the main canopy with?
In actuality, my truck was parked on the street (!) And the person parked behind me on the street was a brand new driver. She left the parking space... badly. Raked the whole side of her car from front marker light to rear marker light with the double crease of the step bumper.
Seems like some...
I was wondering if they balanced well enough. A 3mpg hit? Well, I plan on 33's, not 35's, so maybe I'll only get a 2 mpg hit. I already removed my front air den and leveled the front. I may get a second air dam and cut it in half lengthwise, so there is still a small dam, just not a plow
How are those Kenda tires treating you. What's the fuel economy and noise trade-off like? They sure seem aggressive. Just saw some in person the other day
Uh, do you have a roof rack on this thing? BoostPowered's idea is good, but that isnt really mounting to the window frame itself. Clearly it puts the equipment right where you want it, but you could follow his template at any location on the shell. Agreed, that includes right where you want it...
I suppose communications repeater, and maybe weather stations, make good use for these now. Unfortunately some may also be used as cell towers because, well, we can never be unplugged, right?
I had some Chevys with torsion bars that were quite comfortable. Check stock height to see if the keys are dialed in a bit too much, which would leave the truck a little tall.
At that age, it could need springs and theres a good chance the shocks are toast
Seriously. If you want a truck and prefer a mid-size, you dont go wrong with Tacoma. Colorado seems to offer lot, too, depending on trim level. The new Ranger seems cool, just not enough longevity yet for me.
If full size is your thing, the GMC is very comfortable
