Modifying a pickup to be a SUT

Great, old Johnny Cash song called "One Piece at a Time" where he works at a GM auto plant and takes a piece per day until he has enough pieces to make a Cadillac. But all the parts dont fit because its "strong out over several years"...or a couple decades. Just a fun novelty song, written by...

Modifying a pickup to be a SUT

You do not need to make an Avalanche compatible with some aftermarket tonneau cover. It comes with a hard cover that is lockable. I dont know how old you are or what your skill level is, but you mention GMC (?) being easy to work on. If you know that, you must have some idea that the...

Modifying old pickup 4 new bed accessories

Had a 1990 or 1991 Chevy K1500 Cheyenne, single cab, short bed, bench seat. Roll up windows. It had a 305 engine and I believe a 3 speed manual transmission. Sure wish I had something like that now, but I'm also not complaining about my 6 year old GMC Sierra double cab z71 with heated leather...

Modifying old pickup 4 new bed accessories

The Tundra may or may not have an available standard shift but not likely The Avalanche - you will likely not ever find a standard shift. Also with the avalanche, why would you need a tonneau? They come with a 2 piece, locking bed cover, each piece of which can hold 200 pounds on top of it...

Ford Maverick and the small overlanding pickup truck

My 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 has a 9,000-something pound tow capacity but I wouldn't want to go over 5,000 pounds on a regular basis. If you need to tow 10,000 pounds and its gotta be a Ford, I second the motion that it be an F250. It will tow that weight more easily, and wont get beat down near as fast

Chevy vs Ford vs Toyota pickup

Toyota is one of the most innovative vehicle companies out there. The Taco gained its reputation for reliability by being reliable, not by being fancy. I have no qualms whatsoever that the Camry engine is in it. Actually, the Taco engine is in the Camry, is just as good a though process here...

Chevy vs Ford vs Toyota pickup

Many reliable engines indeed do not make the most horsepower that they could make. This is true because the parts are not being pushed to the limits of the materials

    2022 Silverado ZR2?

^^^ sort of different purposes, and the Chevy could haul more and was far more comfortable. And for a truck platform, it was kind of short.

    2022 Silverado ZR2?

The chevy Blazer history is an interesting one. Obviously Jeep had been Jeep since 1941. Then you had the IH Scout, and the Ford Bronco, all with small, Jeep-like offerings. Chevy had nothing of the sort. But they saw an untapped market. Jeep, Scout, Bronco, were all trail riding, rock crawlers...

2005 sequoia build and adventures aka “turd crappley”

A mix of sad and beautiful scenery. I hope it all gets a chance to grow back. If those are natural "canned" preserves, you might consider a step up on peanut butter, sir. I am sure they have good stuff out your way, but I highly recommend Teddy all natural peanut butter with flax seed, glass...

    2021 Fall Foliage Prediction Map

This year, the New England leaf colors should be quite vibrant and the apple crops should be succulent. We've had plenty of rain over the summer
