Had a 1990 or 1991 Chevy K1500 Cheyenne, single cab, short bed, bench seat. Roll up windows. It had a 305 engine and I believe a 3 speed manual transmission. Sure wish I had something like that now, but I'm also not complaining about my 6 year old GMC Sierra double cab z71 with heated leather...

The Tundra may or may not have an available standard shift but not likely The Avalanche - you will likely not ever find a standard shift. Also with the avalanche, why would you need a tonneau? They come with a 2 piece, locking bed cover, each piece of which can hold 200 pounds on top of it...

My 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 has a 9,000-something pound tow capacity but I wouldn't want to go over 5,000 pounds on a regular basis. If you need to tow 10,000 pounds and its gotta be a Ford, I second the motion that it be an F250. It will tow that weight more easily, and wont get beat down near as fast

Many reliable engines indeed do not make the most horsepower that they could make. This is true because the parts are not being pushed to the limits of the materials
