Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I didn't not see it mentioned but the ground surface conditions greatly effect your comfort in a tent. It's rare in the desert to find a nice level ground surface. And when you do it's sand. Not always great for staking out a ground tent.
I love my RTT in the desert. Much easier to level out...
Comes down to time IMO. Do you have time to build the Dodge into the finish truck you want or do you just want to get out there now in a finished vehicle? The Jeep should wheel harder trails. But I don't know what your in to.
Beyond working on my own stuff I build custom dog barriers for some Toyota trucks. Webstore www.speskioffroad.com Latelay been dabbling in retail store display fixtures as well.

I want to why as the NL twins go up in size the fridge sides don't get much larger. It seems like they just increase the freezer side?
50 liter model has a 10/40 fridge/freezer
60 liter, 25/35
90 liter, 40/50
110 liter, 56/54
I wish they made something larger that keep the 20% freezer and 80%...
I don't have personal experience with either but have had an Engel in my truck for more than a decade. The only fridge I'd consider replacing my Engel with is the NL.
Yes, my battery was 40% of the overall investment. Saw/battery/charger. Variables are to be had. I got the largest battery and saw and the middle of ground charger. The entry level Stihl can be had for $300 with a battery and charger.
I think these are really good options for those who are...
I picked up a Stihl MSA200 battery powered saw this summer. While it will never replace my larger gas powered unit it has proven its self to be a solid little saw. Plenty power enough to cut much more that the 12" bar can bite into. (A 14" is available). I used it once on a trail maintenance...
I just throw mine in the trailer.... all kidding aside I generally don't haul wood on overland trips. Don't have the space and I burn 6 cords+ every winter heating my home. Not having to build a fire is part of getting away for me.
I have a "Drinktanks" 128oz growler with the tap kit. They make a smaller model but don't bother with the tap kit unless you get the 128.

I use my CO2 powertank to charge it (it comes with BB gun type cartridges). Fits inside my...
My kitchen box is a simple pelican case that stores below my fridge. All my cooking kit is in that single case. Food in the fridge and an action packer. Space is at an extreme premium with a 100lb dog. Plus we are generally always camping in bear country. I can not leave my kitchen outside...
I've only every had to use them in the winter. Worked fine under a 1/2 ton pick up and my Outback. However spinning my studded Outback tires on them did cause some accelerated wear.
I generally keep them in the Outback during the winter. Rarely take them wheeling.
Dry Chem (powder) extinguishers should not be mounted vertical but horizontally to reduce this. pdf attached with more info. I still say Dry Chem units are a poor choice but better than nothing.
On the road a safe place in the vehicle is important. You don't need him/her on your lap or flying through the air in an accident or sudden stop. A travel crate or confined space is important. Mine will even seek out this space like his kennel at home as he knows it's "his".
I have a 100 pound Alaskan Malamute.
He requires no bed or additional jacket. He sleeps tied to the front bumper regardless of weather.
He carries the largest MountainSmith dog pack available when hiking. Then I don't have to carry anything except what I want kept dry.
Rides in the cargo...
