Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
dude, you got this. if you are already getting over 80% on practice exams, just keep doing what you're doing. run a couple more tests tomorrow and maybe one or two if there's time before your test on Saturday and you should have no problem. Good luck! Then you'll be on to EXTRA! That's when the...
Chiricahua Mountains are still open. They are still under Stage II fire restriction, but unless you really need a campfire you'll be fine. Propane stoves are allowed. There's a ton of really good higher altitude (6k-8k ft) dispersed camping there in addition to a few really nice developed USFS...
Oh wait, one thing to buy right away: Get a halfway decent air compressor so you can air down as soon as you hit dirt roads and be able to pump them back up at the end of your trip.
My advice is to not go crazy on any mods just yet. You should find that the stock vehicle is perfectly capable for what it sounds like you'll be doing. I have a 2016 JKUHR with no lift and stock tires and it's handled everything i've thrown at it, even some pretty serious trails. The first thing...
Welcome, Kyle! I believe I was the guy who set you up with your membership at Expo! I'm also down here in Baja, AZ - Tucson. I love exploring the borderlands, hit me up if you ever want to head out. We know most of the borderlands from Arivaca to NM really well. Since it's summertime, we tend to...
No so much campsites, they just let you camp there in the sand at the "beach" (the sandstone mine tailings along one of the lakes). There's some tables and an outhouse so i suppose it's like one minor step up from dispersed camping.
The caretaker told me people actually fish out of the lakes in...
1) Chiricahua Mountains (north end is where Chiricahua National Monument is which also has many awesome hiking trails and small fee campsites throughout)
Two awesome camp spots in the Chiricahuas, depending on whether you want to see the north or the south.
Entering on the north end via Pinery...
I'm glad to see you're including Baja Arizona on your trip. So many people come through the state but don't ever seem to head south of Phoenix. We have a lot of really cool stuff down here (I'm based out of Tucson) and I'd be happy to meet up, join you for a few days, or just pass on coordinates...
We had a great time this weekend. I hope you all made it away from Expo safely. It was great meeting all of you and we can't wait to adventure with you again in the future!
I think many (most? all?) of us in the convoy are camping in the main on-site dispersed camping area at Fort Tuthill. If you have a camping pass, just pull in and look for groups camping with OB flags and such. Others who are not camping on-site can hopefully connect with you to share some camp...
The convoy is meeting up on the northwest side of Tucson (Circle K @ 13961 N Sandario Rd, Marana, AZ 85653) at 5:30am Thursday, we expect to be arriving in Anthem (Circle K @ 4135 W Anthem Way, Anthem, AZ 85086) and collecting the Phoenix area folks at around 8:30 with a desire to leave before...
Ok, so unless there's any really strong objections, the convoy will start off from Marana, that way people joining from the Northwest side of Tucson won't have to drive in the opposite direction just to meet up at the original starting point (Speedway and I-10). We'll meet up at the Circle K...
Plan is still 5:30 departure from Tucson, meeting spot is in the rally point details (also linked in the first post on this thread) the Arco west of I-10 on Speedway (802 W Speedway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85745). If any of the attending Tucson folks are actually coming from like Oro Valley or Marana...
