  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

That’s good. Flooding is definitely bad. You considering a snorkel?

Thanks for your response! I like that “high/low” concept! I think you said it best “plan for it not to go to plan”. I might need that stitched on a pillow lol

2003 Atomic Orange Nissan Xterra 4X4 Overland Build (Codename : Tigger) Picture Heavy

Lol I’ve made the mistake of saying “it doesn’t look too deep” enough times (…and replaced an engine) to give myself some extra margin of security. This winter both of my rigs will get the tcase breather added. I’ve accidentally turned the frontier into a boat on too many occasions lol

    Planned level of Adventure

I once heard “the best laid plans work until the first shot is fired” and it has stuck with me ever since. I typically do a deal of research and occasional reconnaissance before taking my wife and truck on any adventure but I have found there are certain things you can’t exactly plan for. In...

2003 Atomic Orange Nissan Xterra 4X4 Overland Build (Codename : Tigger) Picture Heavy

I get it. After putting M/Ts on I really started to notice how much of our trips are highway lol. On the last trip the only dirt was the camp site (looks like the trip to Lake Placid will be the same). It wasn’t too hard to add a breather to the front dif, but I was too lazy to do the tcase.

I may have missed it, but did you also do the front differential breather as well? I saw your rear dif breather pics

Reaver's 03 Xterra XE "Gamora" build thread

Makes sense. I have a D22 extra short Crew cab and WD22 (wife’s) I haven’t noticed much of a difference between the two. But now I’m picking up what you’re putting down

    Appalachian Byway and PA camping

Can’t go wrong with either MABDR or NEBDR, it’s gonna be a pretty epic trip when both are involved

    Appalachian Byway and PA camping

Cherry Springs doesn’t look too far from the top of MABDR. It’s on our list of places to go next year, thought I’d mention that as a camp site idea for you. With the PA state forest sites booking 2 days in a row is a good idea if you like to sleep in. That 11am check out time was the hardest...

    Appalachian Byway and PA camping

Oh, in that case it would probably be one of the flat, open spots right along the road. I don’t remember seeing that site specifically but it seemed like every spot there except mine was flat and right next to the road. Next time I go I will probably stay at site O24 or 25. Please let me know...

Can anyone recommend OL/Camping locations not that far from NJ. (it will be my wife's 1st trip)

So glad to hear it was a good trip! Sounds like a pretty epic time

    Appalachian Byway and PA camping

This was my first time camping in PA. I used the free state park camping sites

    Appalachian Byway and PA camping

Hi guys! As of this weekend I have completed the Appalachian Byway from GPS 40.82876, -75.98301 in central PA eastbound through the entire NJ and NY sections. There is zero dirt on this route. It is scenic, but it is the same as using the “avoid highways” option in google maps. This is the only...

    Looking for trail toilet ideas

I usually had a Home Depot bucket and some husky bags in the truck for miscellaneous uses. One night I had an emergency and had to improvise quick. I wasn’t in a position to cat hole… I rapidly emptied out that Home Depot bucket, threw a husky bag in there… I have a screw on lid for it. This...
