Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I feel like if people were engaged/active we have enough members and resources for the US East region to be US Northeast and Southeast regions but I feel like the culture on the east is much more fractured and we all have a tendency to keep everything to ourselves.
Thank you Jim!
I was talking about the 5 …I guess they’re called tracks? (ambassador, adventurer etc)
I’ll stop bothering you on here and I’ll use that link to make a suggestion. Have a great day!!
I wouldn’t know personally but everyone says the hard shells are significantly better with the wind. I considered the Trustmade hard shell partially due to this.
This community could really use some good quality agenda free gear reviews
The old padlock on my tailgate wouldn’t open. I keep the cutters in the back seat storage in the cabin of my truck in case it happens again.
Now I don’t carry a slim Jim, but if I did I would just say the 90s macho man Randy Savage commercials were really effective
I don’t have any experience with this tent but it seems like soft shell tents in general are pretty loud in the wind, louder than any other option.
Although I suppose if you have the rain fly off and use all the mesh it would probably quieter and give minimal wind protection.
As for rain...
Thank you! I really didn’t know where to post it. I looked up and down the options in the iPhone app.
I’m not sure where to make a suggestion like this so I’ll put it here:
May I suggest making them badges? A tangible reward like that might be a good way to encourage positive member...
This got moved. I don’t think it was a support question. But it looks like it just moved to nowhere/swept under the rug.
Has no one really asked this question before?
I just got notified I got all the trophies in the “ambassador” track and I don’t really know what that means/ or the significance of it.
They kinda look like badges. I was wondering if there’s supposed to be a badge to put on the truck with my OB member badge.
Thank you so much for sharing! If you’re ok with it I think what you just shared is perfect for that thread! That sounds like such an incredible setup an triple locked lx!!
My wife and I want to eventually go to Maine. I think if we can’t go with someone else we may end up taking both of our...
Thanks for sharing! Reminds me of when I had my red xj. I wouldn’t ever plan anything and would just spontaneously take it as far as I could on any track/trail etc I thought looked interesting. Good memories lol
I like to try making some radio contacts if possible, or try to hit the nearest repeater. Often I have a new piece of kit I’ll be testing out or doing some familiarization with.
But usually after a little hike, playing with fire and cooking it’s about time to sleep.
I see, the tj is more of a rock crawler. Do you generally know prior to setting out how far off the beaten path you want to go?
Sounds like the compass is quite capable!
That tj looks sweet! So I guess the deciding factor the the type of adventure (and ultimately whic rig you take) is if the family comes along?
In the tj do you usually go solo?
Wow! That sounds legit. Gotta say I’m a bit envious. So far we haven’t had to worry about any tornadoes, blizzards or canes yet.
How do you decide which places you want to go? Do you ever find a place you want to go but decide it’s out of your comfort zone or capabilities?
