Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I was referring to the rig as a whole, regarding droop issues. What's your main goal for the rig?
I like King too, but I can't justify the cost for my build, mainly a weekend warrior and vacation exepedition rig.
I'm going to Fox remote reservoir shocks pretty soon here, while not a triple bypass I expect them to help with some shock fade on long days.
That's interesting, I noticed that 4Runners have droop problems (compared to Jeeps anyhow), even with the solid axle in the rear. I guess that is an IFS...
I purchased my emblem/membership yesterday and I saw that a large batch was shipped today, does that mean I may be waiting 2-3 weeks for my OB # and emblem?
I drive a Jeep and if anything made we want to buy a 4Runner, it was this post - awesome build. How do your King Triple Bypass shocks work for you and how often do you get to some dicey speeds off the pavement?
If you do decide to change, I vote for the KO2's, but they do run small. If I went to KO2's I would get them in 37 which really ends up being a true 35". My current 35" MTR/K's come in at 34.5 mounted under weight, so not that big of a difference.
The PSI gauge on those is great, but like others said how accurate? I have the Staun's now and its a pain adjusting them, but I prefer that hassle over having to walk tire to tire with the ARB deflator.
This is so true, I rarely look behind me when I back into parking spaces. I see it use though, you can't see directly behind you when your rig is full loaded and you have a spare tire on the back.
I have ran a 15" wheel and a 17" wheel on my Jeep Wrangler. Now, depending on the weight of your rig the load rating is going to make more of a difference in ride than a wheel size will. On a 15" wheel you will experience more "body roll" (for lack of a better term) during day to day driving...
I'd like to get away for New Years, but my last overlanding buddy recently sold his rig and I don't want to go it alone. Possible playgrounds in my radius are British Columbia, Alberta Washington, Oregon and Montana. I have a particular interest in doing a portion of the WABDR as well.
I would...
Still much safer than cable if it does. Plus, like Exped North mentioned its easy to clean and maintain. If I ever make the purchase on the Zeon 10 it will be with synthetic rope for those reasons.
