Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I don't think the 5 speed was used until 2003 model year so my guess would be the 4speed A343F Transmission well 3spd with overdrive.
Here is one on Mudd that states through 2002 https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/a343f-4-speed-transmission-98-02-100-series.966100/
The cost of just about any HJ45 is not just the cost of the truck. You really have 2 routes: 1. Restore which is great but not real usable in modern areas due to the need for higher speeds. 2. Re-Engineer for modern speeds, engine, transmission, brakes, etc... No matter the choice it will be a...
Yup HJ75 UTE with Camper on back of cab, let me know if you want info. The 70 Series has a lot of different models from Trucks, wagons and short SUVs, 6cyl gas and Desel and 4 cyl Diesel.
Personally I really like the Xterra and think its highly under rated as a competent exploration rig. Easy to maintain, work on, modifications are inexpensive (Compared to Land Cruiser), the off road version with factory rear locker is great too!
Overlanding doesn't need to be expensive or only available to those with massive amounts of disposable incomes. I wanted to start this thread how to "outfit and explore" without breaking the bank. The idea of making it yourself increasing knowledge putting in the effort instead of the cash...
I also owned an 80 for many years found it to be very reliable never needed a head gasket ~ 200K on stock engine. It is not a power full engine with about 212HP for 2 Cam engine and about the same ft tq. The V8 does have slightly more power but I believe Toyota went to the V8 to go IFS in the...
What the tires called for as a MAX pressure? Which if I recall correctly for an E load tire is 80PSI? Unloaded this would be too much pressure not to mention a brutal ride.
I agree there is some partial truth to your statement as I will not defend the use of spacers not everyone has the same budget. For $150 it did solve a few problems. Shackles really improved the rear suspension, ride height and on road feel as well. Front spacers are not ideal granted, did...
For accessories with enough thread space or enough of a neck to get stainless safety wire around I will loop the safety wire to both sides. Do need to make sure I always have a pair of cutters when heading out.
I'd say enjoy not having a payment for a while then make a decision if you are really ready to move away from your jeep. Do you need a truck or just want one? It would be cheaper to add a locker to your jeep then replace it with a TRD for the benefit of the locker.
@BoldAdventure thanks for the input. I am aware of the dodge line to some degree previous owner of 1995 12vlave and 2005 cummins. I always thought the cummins was a Dimond wrapped in a turd. Even the thought of going gas has me bothered a little but I am thinking I'd rather go gas and have...
