Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Actually parts are the easy part the cost that I was referring to had nothing to do whit cost of maintenance in fact its been cheaper then my domestic FJ80.
NC/SC members I was wondering if there was a good amount of public or open space to explore or do you need to travel a long distance before getting into public land? NC is top of the list for states for relocation just didn't want to end up in a state where most of the land is private (Like Texas)
Who else is aware of this swap meet in the SF bay area? I was messaged on Facebook because they wanted to show my Toyota Troop there. Wanted to see if anyone from OB is planning on attending?

Here's a close up for you! haha Awesome bike by far the best I have ever owned or had the pleasure to ride! But sadly at the same time you can understand why KTM didn't continue to make them! "Cure for Common Sense"
My vote would be 2005 or newer Xterra Off Road (Rear factory electric Locker) also aftermarket is decently priced. They did come with a manual but very rare. For the $ I think they are one of the best bang for the buck!
I have been using the generic china made LED mixed flood/beam light bar and spot package for past several years. Never had any issues but can't talk towards any interference they may or may not cause. I'd suspect they would be less noisy compared to non-led lighting just out of less draw but...
I'd make sure the service records are up to date including the timing belt and water pump. Even if millage has just hit service interval depending on the year the time period for changing might be way past due.
I went with an import due to what I wanted was not on the market. I was driving in a 1997 LX450 with 35" getting an amazing 11mpg. I imported a 1986 HJ75 UTE with an camper on the back already get about 21mpg. I was lucky to find a very low milage rig with a neat camper.
Currently 1979 is the Newest that will get through anything newer will require lab testing on top of everything I went through. Yeah I'd love to live in PNW!
I have a Joe Hauler works well for lighter bikes needed to reinforce for current bike (KTM 950 SER) I like that you can tighten the tongue with an exterior bolt that acts as a wedge in the receiver.
New front page video that I feel captures the intent of this thread... Thanks @Michael Love seeing the creativity and solutions people come up with! https://www.overlandbound.com/budget-built-tacoma-overland-rig/
