Questions
What is the difference between an annual membership and a free account
Annual membership opens the full platform: complete map access, GPX tools, offline downloads, Rally Point creation, map messaging, crew creation and your member number. One price, everything included. A free account gets you community forum access and a view of the map. You can see what's out there — trails, POIs, member locations — but you can't interact with any of it.
How much does membership cost
$39.99 a year. That's the Digital Membership. If you want physical gear with it, the Emblem Kit ($49.99) and the Deluxe Kit ($79.99) include the same membership with one-time items: your custom numbered metal emblems, an embroidered patch, or a hat.
Is this billed annually
Yes. Membership renews once a year at the same rate. Cancel anytime.
What happens to my account if I cancel
Annual accounts active longer than 30 days remain valid through the end of your billing period. After that, your account drops to free: forum access stays, but platform features (map interaction, GPX tools, offline downloads, Rally Point creation, map messaging) are no longer available. Your member number is permanent. You keep it whether your membership is active or not.
Can I import my existing GPX files from GaiaGPS, onX, AllTrails or similar to my Overland Bound account
Yes. If you have GPX routes saved in Gaia, onX, or anywhere else, import them directly into Field Map or Overland Bound One. Your existing library works here.
What is Overland Bound One
The Overland Bound mobile app for iOS and Android. Same membership, in your pocket. Field Map, Rally Points, offline map downloads, track recording, GPX import and export, community forums, and direct messaging are all in the app. Download it free from the App Store or Google Play. Your membership login works across web and app.
What do legacy members have access to
If you paid for a membership before July 2020, you're a legacy member. You have access to Rally Point creation (public only), full POI details on Field Map, and map messaging.
