have you tried that?

I'm gonna give this a try. I've had my Nuvi 1450 sitting beside the computer for some time now waiting for the chance. Tonight I downloaded Basecamp, plugged the Garmin in, and nothing... Let's try Garmin Express... Open, update, update, connect to device. Device not found. Grrrr. Wait! I think this has happened one other time. Find different USB cable. Device found. Trashed defective or no data/charge only cable. 41 minutes remaining now to update lower 48 maps, time zones, and save maps to PC for Basecamp. Maybe I get another chance to play after bedtime...

Nice, I have a handful of older Nuvi's that I pick up on craiglist as loaners for friends. This gives me a way to put better maps on those loaners.
