So this would be foregoing the monthly meet up correct? Also is it just a day trip? Or will there be camping?

Yes. However, anyone not able to make the trip, but still wants to meet as usual, are certainly free to do so.
I had not planned on camping, but if some would like to, that's OK. I don't know of any sites past Mason, which is the half way point.
