Overlanding with a CPAP; Power options?

That's the one I got for my wifes Respironics Dream Station. It works great. Ran for 4 days (with the humidifier) on a 105agm non deep cycle battery. My dumbass got all wrapped up in worrying about how to power it and bought a 1500w pure sine inverter for it without even checking to see what it actually runs off of. Turns out it runs straight off of 12v. So now I use that cord and have a sweet 1500w pure sine inverter that I don't use. Long story short do your research first. You might be surprised at what you find.
I have a buddy who was a on a Cpap and type 2 Diabetes, change his diet and dropped a bunch of weight. Now he does not need the Cpap or the meds. YMMV.

Nice option, similar to the goal zero yeti but without the wasted proprietary ports.

I got the dc adapter that'll plug into our micro camper via 12v outlet. I do not run the humidifier/ heater but i don't use that at home either. The camper has dual batteries and dual solar so I have never run out of power yet which was the lan when i installed the solar and batteries.On other forums I have also seen folks running them off of battery jumper packs

Unfortunately my F&P Icon + has a 120v plug hardwired in.. So I just use a charged up 12v Deep cycle in the back of the rig and a 400w inverter. I switch it to airplane mode, which shuts off the humidifer, heated hose and the spy radio. Seems to work ok.
If size, weight and cost play a factor, you can get a 12V motorcycle battery and a CPAP will run all night off one of those. You would just need to find a way to charge it back up the next day while you drive. They can be recharged off a light plug or a small solar panel.
I'm talking less than $50 all in, or maybe $100 if you go Lithium.

John, I’ve have a CPAP. I’ve had it for years and love mine. To me, It like a dog with his head out the rigs window! It’s all I can do to stay awake when I put it on. I just lost 98 lbs. and the CPAPs pressure has really been turned down and I got off some meds too, but I love my machine and still use it every night.

There is one more company in the US that makes great power product’s. You might want to look at their options. I have gotten three of theirs units.

one self contained Ham radio unit 
and a small but powerful battery pack. All will drive multiple functions plus all are rechargeable with just a Solar panel if needed. The name of the Tennessee company is Harden Power Systems Hardened Power Systems, USA – INNOVATION THAT WORKS. HARD.. Just call they will tell you about their units and driving a CPAP. They are helpful and will talk your ear off. Great to do business with.

Beware that Lithium Ion chemistry has lower voltage than many 12V CPAP inputs expect, so the CPAP might stop while the battery is still at well over 50% charge. You can resolve this by using a "regulated" cable (Goal Zero sells one), or by using a different chemistry (lead acid, LiFePO4). Just something to look out for. As said above, avoid the inverter losses and make sure any heating is turned off. My ResMed AirMini will run the better part of 2 nights on my 100 Wh travel battery (Mediastrom).

Has anyone attempted a 12v junction with a cord to power cube. I would like to run the cpap, plug in my LED lights and maybe charge the phone. I currently carry the cube into the RTT I’m old it’s getting heavier everyday.

I run my cpap with a Jackery or 12v marine battery that is mounted in the box on my M416 trailer. I recharge them via solar or plugged into the XJ while traveling the next day. The marine battery runs the Dream station with the humidifier for two nights without charging. Look online for a 12v power cord for your cpap. it's very possible that the manufacturer of your cpap offers a 12v cord.

Just leave it at home. Doctors are prescribing cpap machines for everybody right now. (Kickbacks?)
The only way you can get a DOT physical card, is by being in absolutely perfect shape, or taking a sleep survey that 100% of the time insists that you need a cpap. It's a scam.
I'm in perfect shape. But I'm big enough to rip a average man's arms off, without much effort. Because my neck size is over 17", they wanted to put me on a sleep study. I told them to go to hell, and went to a real doctor that's actually seen people taller than 6 foot before.
Many of us are considering moving on to jobs that don't require harassment from the DOT. Ya'll can fix you own powerlines and power systems.

I would love my to be a scam… alas I have been using one for 18 years. I forgot the power cord for a quick overnight and I woke up at least 10 times in the first few hours so I just stayed up the rest of the night. I think I will make a “box” that has multiple plugs that stays in the RTT and just snake a cord down tot he power source.

I normally power mine with a DC power cord and my Bluetti power station. I just received ( sent by the company for review ) a 96,000 mah CPAP battery pack that looks to have cords for multiple cpap machines. The brand is Easylonger.
I am just starting to test it but hoping it a nice compromise to the much larger Bluetti.

I highly suggest ecoflow. Depending on how long you stay and how many watts your CPAP consumes, they have a bunch of battery sizes.
I use a delta 2 (1024wh) for my heart pump. It was critical that my pump was powered at all times (either battery or direct power).
Also brought a 220 watt solar panel.

Easylonger ES960 Battery Pack review is done. Before I start I will note that Easylonger sent me this battery pack to try out at no charge but did not ask for or receive any editorial role, nor did they see the video before it posted. Ok, so all in all I think this is a great tool for portable CPAP power that doesn't carry the insane price tag that "CPAP Batteries" carry. The unit comes with (for my case) a 24v output that doesn't require a converter block which, to my understanding, reduces the load on the battery. I used it on both my Airsense 11 (humidifier on 2 and no heated tube with average pressure of 11-13) and Resmed Mini and pulled between 39-40 hours of use on both. I think they could have given a bit more but the status gauge on the pack is lacking detail so I stopped using when it reached one bar. Another nice thing is that this pack has a built in MPPT charge controller and is compatible (their rating) with solar panels over 100w.
It is relatively compact and light given the output. At the end of the day I think it is a great option for moving into and out of tents and other locations lacking on board power and is currently on sale through Amazon.
