Oklahoma overlanders where ya at?

It's probably a good thing I didn't show up, would have brought down the classiness of the group with my ugly old XJ. :tearsofjoy:
Your forgetting Jon, your an OB'er and no one gives a hoot what you drive. If they do, F- - - um, I like your beast

A bit late notice, but throwing this out there is anyone would like to join. My son and I will be leaving from Lake Tenkiller Monday (29th) morning and taking some backroads & forest roads through the Ozark NF to Byrd's. Currently planning to explore the Ozark NF for a day or two and then wander north to intersect the TAT and follow it back to northern central Oklahoma. Pic is of our planned route for Mon. 29th, I'm still working on the return route. SmartSelect_20190721-073115_Gaia%20GPS.jpg

Taking a week staycation this week and just exploring local places. Yesterday was Tahlequah tried to get to Boy scout hole but it's still inaccessible, but we still had a blast. Stopped by the fire station and got a tour and saw a 1931 Chevy fire engine.

We found an old playground that is a deathtrap by today's standards. We never died on these things, granted I broke an arm on one of these playgrounds as a kid.

Visited the prison museum.

Found a nice hiking trail.

Boy Scout Hole is still inaccessible, but found another place to take a dip in the river.

Finished the day off at Del Rancho before heading home. A great day yesterday, tonight is the Admiral Twin drive in, later in the week is Disney and Eureka Springs, maybe back down to Eufaula and then a day or two of just chilling at the house.

Very nice trip I can see. You are a lucky man to have such a beautiful family to share your likes. Memories are a forever thing, ice cream is gone almost immediately and soon forgotten.

Looks like it'll be a good run. @4.0LitersToFreedom was talking about a group doing a similar run for the Rendezvous in Oct. Would be interested to hear how the routes go for ya.

Super excited, just got my order placed yesterday for the Tundra. Icon stage 8 which includes RXT rear leaf pack, 2.5s front and rear with RR, Icon Billet Uniball UCAs, carrier bearing drop, diff drop, extended rear brake lines, wheels, and tires. 6-8 week lead time is going to kill me lol. Gives me time to narrow down the front bumper and get the winch mounted up.

That's going to be one heck of a tundra!

I’ve wanted to run high water mark trail for awhile. It would be great to hear from someone who has done it recently and what .gpx file they used.

Does anyone know anything about the Artemis Overland Hardware Summer Bash coming up this weekend in Springfield, MO? I just saw the event posted in another group this morning and am debating if it is worth a trip...
I’ve been debating the same thing.

Actually know a couple. Did a photoshoot with one back before they were known. My son is in the street racing scene as well.
I could hang with any of them. I'll stick to my nice slow creepy crawling off road vehicles though. LOL

I feel like I saw a thread or event about an event going on for those who want to get their Ham license, has this come and gone or still upcoming? Will there be another one any time soon?
