Thanks for setting up the weekend and leading the trail!
Yea NP! Hopefully I will be able to make it out to more events after my classes.

I do have an idea for a potential trip in the future. Supposedly there are some Ghost towns in New River Gorge, West Virginia. Not 100 percent on how far away that is but it might be cool to scope out.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I'll also check it out on the web and see if there's any info on it.

I am hoping to make next trip. Was excited about this past trip but it happened to fall in line with closing on our house.

Interesting, it does not seem to be working on my work computer so I will try it when I get home.

Also, might be looking for a M416 trailer, so if anyone hears of one at a decent price, please let me know!
Government auctions is the way to go if you want to buy cheap and fix it up. I started doing research on these a while back. You'll need to bring a trailer and haul it away as they don't allow you to hook it up to your vehicle and drive it off. Some example links below:

Yea, started looking on GovPlanet for something around here. Found onlt the M101's, or whatever they are called, which would be to big for me. I will have to look at some of the other links you posted and maybe look farther out than the local area.

I've been looking for an M416 for awhile. GovPlanet (and their sister sites) only ever have M101s and M1101 which are bigger and heavier than I want M416 is perfect but hard to find and expensive. There is also a website where they build replica M416 style trailers from ground up however you want. Costs a lot tho.

@AG Sheep

Does it have to be a M416? Reason I ask is, They have been out of service for the military for decades. Most have been all bought up by the Civilian public.

To find one in good shape will cost you monies.

Check out the below site. Every now and then, one will come up. You will have to register to see pix. though..

While you are at it.. search for local Government auctions (ie. Police, National Guard and so on) too. Again, sometimes these things can be located there. Rare, but possible.

I wish you luck. I gave up after a few years of searching for one.

There are a couple that have popped but they are about 2k cost wise. I was looking at the M416 for weight reasons. Not looking to put an RTT or do anything fancy to it. Just an enclosed trailer, with a topper style cover, to throw camping stuff in it.

One the things I contemplate is how often I would actually use it versus the cost.

I'm trackin'. and that is the issue with me as well.

Morris mule has a base frame kit now, so people can build them out the way they want. the down side is, having room and time to build it. I do get the idea and fun of building one yourself. but having a done deal ready to roll. is all the more better.

I had Morris build my trailer. High quality, more than fair pricing, and Morris is amazing to deal with-awesome dude!

How come nobody is trying to get together for the Big Dogs Off Road event this weekend or the Appalachian Toyota Roundup at the end of the month? These are perfect opportunities to do events together.

I personally won’t be available this weekend but I am going to the Round-Up.

Big Dogs is A LOT OF FUN, but its more of a huge drinking party. I'll only go back if I had another buggy.

There aren't as many fun ride around trails when all the hardcore buggy guys are trying to have fun and get their broken rigs out.

I do quite like that. Just a question though, why did you go with the trailer when you have a 4 Door JK? Some higher milage 3.8's are coming down in price so I weight the idea of having another JK
on the side or doing a trailer.

I honestly did not know these events were going on. I will be out of town for the next couple of weeks so trying to spend some time with the wife and I want to do somethings to the project car before I leave.

I have to somewhat disagree with that. I went and camped with my family, and we’re not big drinkers at all. That’s why going with a group could be better cause you’re there to have a good time together, not make a bunch of new drunk friends.

And when I went they had 10 separated trail rides with Guides and spotters. And the rides ranged from stock friendly to guaranteed heavy damage. Although having a buggy through the trails they have there would be hella fun.
