No Pictures I haven't had three posts yet.
Hello from PT Washington,
Our current ride is a 2018 Jeep JLU.
Not much of a poster but I"ve been lurking for a long time(love the rig and trailer builds). My wife and I have been Overlanding since we started dating 20yrs ago and I started with my parents as a kid I've grown up with it. Dad would always take the forest service roads over the highway. See you in the Bush.

New Members,

Welcome to the Overland Bound community! Please take a few moments to introduce yourself so we can get to know you!

A few things you might want to include in your introduction are:

1) Picture! If you have a rig, we want to see it!
2) Location (General area is fine)
3) Rig (Year, Make, Model, etc.)
4) Overlanding Experience Background (Novice or Experienced, you're welcome here!)

We're glad you've found us and look forward to sharing our adventures with you!

In addition to getting to know you, here are the guideline sent to all Moderators of the forums. It's a natural reflection of our community, and what Overland Bound is all about:

From @administrator
  • Overlanding is: "Vehicle Dependent Travel". Nothing else.
  • We will not further define "overlanding".
  • "Capable" depends on the requirements of the trip, and we take that very seriously.
  • You are an Overlander: Overlanding is for everyone who has exploration and adventure in their heart, or, who need to be reinvigorated by connecting with nature. Nature is unforgiving. You must rise to a certain level of personal awareness to survive. Sound right? Overlanding is for you.
  • Encourage uncomplicated ventures into the great outdoors. Don't over pack.
  • Be prepared, and understand basic requirements. Question folks, to be sure they are aware of what is required. Don't assume.
  • Share without reservation, trip locations, and information.
  • It doesn't matter what you drive: The only requirement of an Overlander is that the vehicle serves the job required, safely.
  • We do not care about make or model.
  • We do not engage in "this is better than that" competitions.
  • We DO give advice about how to make your vehicle ready for what you need. Share knowledge.
  • Humility.
  • We respect, fear, and protect nature.
  • "I don't know" is a great answer.
  • We don’t brag about exploits.
  • We seek answers from the community when we don’t know.
  • We engage in the very smallest of interactions.

Well Thank You for the great welcome! Aside from the screen name I am Hugh Bryce and I get to live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have been here since I was three so I guess that makes me a lifer in NM.
Married for now 42 years to the same woman!!! We have four kids all grown and doing their thing all over the country, and we have 10 yes 10 grand kids. Now down to the important stuff we are running a 2103 jeep wrangler sport on 35 inch BFG KO2 tires with a 3.5 inch lift sporting smittybuilt 1st gen bumpers front and rear with a 9500 lbs winch on the front. The both of us are the dirt road type like where does this lead and what are we going to find at the end. It has always been that way but we never really called it overlanding just lets go find a road or trail. As for overlanding we are I wold say somewhere in the middle not really into rock climbing or really hard core stuff but we will run trails like engineer pass or hurricane pass, but not really into black bear. I hope we can meet up on the trail or in town just give me a text and I will try my best to be there!

Hello I'm Joss and I am new to overlanding. I have no experience whatsoever and wanted to join a forum to get a better idea of what it entails, hopefully I gain some knowledge and prepare for my first overland weekend or something. I live in Colorado and will probably be overlanding in a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder.
Welcome to the Overlanding family. Tons of great info on the forum even more from a meeting. Check out the calendar and see if there’s a group that meets near you.
