iOS location issue?

The location arrow still shows a blue background behind the location arrow in the top left of the screen when getting out of the app. I have location services set to "while using the app"). The only way the blue background goes away is to actually force close the app or setting location services to "never". This happens even if I never open the map. Is there a way we can get the app to only use location services while actually using the app and not in the background? Or maybe only run when using the map?

Yeah it sucks. You use the app and unless you force close it, it’s just basically a battery/data drain.

It does this because the app is a Navigation app...

You'll note it works like waze and other nav apps. You have the option of not allowing it. Forums and everything else works without it. The only difference is that the app will not know where you are, and will not center on your location when adding locations, rally points, opening the map etc, but it works fine.
