What is your all-time favorite meals for the trail? (The goal here is to help with meal ideas!)

List 3 catagories; Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Breakfast: Breakfast burrito with egg, cheese, bacon and/or sausage, bonus for green chilis!

Lunch: I prefer a simple lunch to keep down-time to a minimum, so a turkey sammich and chips is fine for me.

Dinner: We don't do it often, but I love a big ol' steak with some grilled brussel sprouts (or asparagus) and a tasty beverage.

Breakfast is oatmeal with a banana smashed in along with some pumpkin or sunflower seeds and some kind of dried fruit. I have these short and wide mouthed thermoses (thermi?) that work great. I put all the ingredients in, add boiling water, screw the lid on and let it cook for 20ish minutes.

Basic sandwiches fill my lunch.

Some kind of meat and potato in a foil pouch seems to be dinner.

Over the years our tastes have changes and we generally plan food on the fly these days - especially with kids - but here are a couple of camp classics:

Breakfast:
Steak and Eggs (Skottle me up Scotty!)
Burritos (Duck Eggs - because they're thick and tasty and keep you full, shredded potatoes, shredded carrots, thick shreds of sharp cheddar)
COFFEE!!!!!!

Lunch / Dinner:
Hot Dogs and Kimchi (It's quick, easy, and spicy!)
Camp Potatoes (Premade at home and wrapped in tinfoil to be thrown on a fire - potato, peppers, onions, spice to your liking)

On the go:
Bread / Crackers, Block Cheese, Sausage
PB&J
Protein Shake

Well, with two little girls, cooking is always fun.
Breakfast; I like oatmeal on the trail... The girls however do not... So, it usually ends up being cereal of some sort, Quaker Oat Squares or generic seem to the choice lately.
Lunch; as simple as possible. Lunch meat, PB&J, a green pepper, a tomato for me...
Dinner; Can of Skyline Chili. Either with hot dogs cooked in the chili &then make Coney's out of it with cheese and a bun. Or, making 3ways with spaghetti and cheese. Either is a hit with the girls and pretty simple to make.

Hard to go wrong with Mountain House Chili Mac but with the added treat of crushed Doritos or Chili Cheese Fritos....try adding just a bit extra water and add chips at the end....serve with beverage of choice!! [emoji106][emoji2][emoji106]

I agree but I pair with a PBR.

Breakfast: pork roll and eggs or steak and eggs
And and a arizona sunrise( tequila, OJ, prickly pear syrup)

Lunch: Quesadillas ( meat, onion, peppers, jalapeños, cheese) and a Coors (heavy)

Dinner: Steak, some type of vegetable and an old fashioned, bourbon

I skip the drinks if driving is still needed for the day.

For back up meals I like mountain house or backpacker pantry( packed flatter, tastes great)

And snacks. Lots of snacks
I keep a dedicated snack bag.
Its mostly beef jerky.

You could streamline the process, and just use the beer to re-hydrate the Chili ;-)

When Costco briefly sold Mountain House last year, I took out a 2nd mortgage on the house ;-). So my camping meals are pretty much set for the next 25 years. However, if you want to talk about snacks, I've got something to contribute.

The following need no refrigeration:

Beef Jerky
Peanut Butter
Power Bars (Performance - old school)
Dried Fruit
Trail Mix
Bacon Cheez Whiz
Triscuts
Fritos (also works as fire starter :-)

Breakfast: We always go fast and simple. Eggs and bacon are a favorite of mine on the trail.

Lunch: I don't often eat lunch, in fact I don't remember a time when we did.

Diner: Its got to be homemade Chilli!
