    Tire talk

Neither the TA KO2 nor the Cooper A/T3 were available in a size to fit my application, or I would have gone with them (preferably the A/T3.) Instead, I ended up with the Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S, which is biased a bit more toward the daily use end of the all-terrain spectrum than the off-road...

    Plano Cases

Thanks, @hardtrailz I'd found the Amazon version, but it too is labeled as a model 1919, while all three colors of the one in the Academy link are model 1918 cases. I think I'll write to them and ask. Thanks you! [EDIT] Ah, I found the info I was after under the Q&A tab on the Academy site...

    Plano Cases

@hardtrailz How big is that Plano on the Academy link? It shows model 1819, but I can't find that on Plano's page. They have the 1919 in models with or without the o-ring seal. Does the one from Academy have the o-ring? Thanks, Steve

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

What did I do with my rig? I emptied a lot of crap that we didn't use out of mine today...

    I'm getting the itch...

Around here, it is at least a couple of hours to the nearest gravel, and I don't have any idea for anything a bit further afield. I sure found a lot of places I'd like to move while we were traveling...

    Anyone in Indiana?

I thought I was the only Ohio member! Glad to see another on here. I'm west of Cleveland, but I grew up NE of you a bit in Logan County (not Logan, Ohio)

    Overland Bound T-Shirt

Well, I'm definitely not a "fitted" shape, so I'd better go of a large. Thanks!

    Overland Bound T-Shirt

OK, we're home, and I'm ready to order my Overland Bound t-shirt. How are they running, size-wise? I'm wavering between medium and large. (Well I'm a little larger after eating 43 days on the road... ;) )

    Steve & Deb's Cross-Country Adventure

Mile 7758: After 43 days and 2 hours, we are home. We have gone 5209 miles after leaving our daughter at Seattle Pacific University back on September 25th. We averaged 18.3 MPG on the way out, 21.0 on the way back, and 20.1 overall. The 7786 shown is the GPS. I used the odometer for this running...

    Photography

I like the D5500, and plan on looking into it when I get back. I'm not sure I can use the older lenses I have with it.

    Steve & Deb's Cross-Country Adventure

Just uploaded 78 more photos, mostly from Badlands National Park. There are many similar photos, as I was playing with lighting and depth of field. With the fog and overcast, it was very hard to get something I liked. You guys get to see the pre-sorted mess. :) This was in Blue Earth, Minnesota...

Thanks guys! I didn't post this one, but I like its it looks like the elk is smiling. :) @jordanbrooks We are now in Wisconsin, and should be home Friday afternoon, on the 43rd day of our trip. Deb is about done living out of a suitcase, and changing hotels every night or two. We've talked...

    Photography

I've been an amateur photographer since I was eight year old, when my aunt gave me a Brownie for my birthday. I've been through a lot of cameras and formats (roll film, instamatics, 35mm, CD, floppy disk, etc. The truth through all of them, is that it isn't the equipment, but the photographer...

    1997 F150 "Dad's Truck"

I'm sorry to read that you lost your father earlier this year. My sincere condolences. It makes me feel a little old that you are restoring a truck that I bought brand new before the Subarus I have. I ordered a '97 SuperCab XLT longbed like yours as soon as orders were being taken on the new...

    Morocco 2015. Round trip.

Good news, Robert! It sounds like you had an enthusiastic crew working on your vehicle, which is always a big help. Stay safe!

    Inverter recommendations

Yea, my fuse is 20W, as well. That's why I'm going to hardwire it when I get home. I just ran out of time before we headed out west in mid-September. Actually, I haven't used it on the trip yet at all...
