True. Back in California it's all rocks... Very dry and dusty rocks.
I've been to a couple parks around here though and things can get pretty off camber if you want, but they are also easily avoidable.

I've been interested in a RTT for a while but I think with a Jeep it's just not practical. I think I'm going to go with an offroad cargo trailer with RTT or an offroad teardrop eventually.
The thing I like about the trailer is that you can take it places and then leave it back at camp while you...
I'd be open to helping install some stuff. I think the biggest thing I have to do on my Jeep is take off my rock rails to paint the holes so they don't rust. Other than that I'm pretty solid on my Jeep.

You can go to the store and buy synthetic blend oils which is a blend between synthetic and conventional, so I would assume it isn't unsafe to do. As long as you have the right quantity and it is the right weight you'll be fine.
I have a set of brand new Metalcloak lower control arms for a Jeep TJ. I ordered these to fix a vibration I had but after 5 minutes of driving I realized these were not going to fix my problem. Included in the sale is the proper crow's foot for the jam nut as well as extra grease in case you...
Great photos! I have officially joined the group now so next run you can get a picture of my badge too! Does anyone know of anywhere else to explore nearby?

Yes it does. It allows you to download areas to your local phone storage so it can still track and show the map even in areas with no cell service.
That is likely Gaia that you heard about, but I know on my old iPhone they updated to the new subscription version and gave all owners of the...
I found this trailer listed in our classifieds. Looks like a good price for something similar to a military trailer. What do you all think? Also, how much do you think it would cost to make some kind of hard lockable cover for the trailer...
I believe it is currently a one time purchase on the Google Play store for $20 but they are transferring to a yearly subscription (already is one on iPhones) for I believe $10 a year. It's a great app for hiking and 4x4!
You should be able to download the tracks directly from that link I sent...
I use the Gaia GPS app. I recorded the track and then added the remainder of the highlighted section that we missed. There is one small circuit that we missed up towards the first highway crossing we did near the skull and crossbones on the map. I'd be down to go again sometime and log some of...
Awesome! That's quite a bit of stuff as well. I must keep looking for trailers on Craiglist to see if anything pops up there.

Thanks for your link. I will read through it when I get the chance. I unfortunately don't have fabrication experience and am living in an apartment right now so totally DIY is off the table unless I find someone that has the know how and desire to help me.
Are you able to fit everything you...
I would think I would define it as off the beaten path. Nothing too crazy, maybe some rocks and stuff here and there but I'm not planning to rock crawl with a trailer. Moderately tame stuff, but if the road gets rough I'd like to be able to continue rather than turning back.
To me it seems...
