What happened to all the true adventurers?

The article posted by the OP is actually hilariously absurd. Some young millennial punk complaining about millennials ruining overlanding with Instagram for "old school" "true overlanders" like himself. Please. If it was any more ridiculous, I'd think it was deliberately ironic. Elitism is what...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

OHHHHH now I get it! I kept seeing all these rigs with black patches on the hoods and I was like "what's this all about?" Lol now I know. I can sometimes be a bit slow on uptake.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Did a test fit and made some modifications and adjustments. I think I've got it just about dialed in to the point where I should be able to do a final test fit next go round, and mark the feet for drilling.

    1999 Honda CR-V - "Ganbaru"

Test fitted and made some modifications and adjustments to the design and placement of the "legs" and the positioning of the front "feet." It's getting to the point now where I think I should be able to do a final test fit and then drill the feet and bolt the whole thing down onto the roof. I'm...

To Chainsaw or not to Chainsaw, that is the question

I debated for a long time about getting a chainsaw. In the end, I decided the cons were far outweighing the pros, and instead I got one of these bad boys: Light weight, easy to carry, stows easily and takes up little space, runs on elbow grease, guaranteed never to kickback on you, and much...

Interesting read on Millennials and the Camping industry!

I was born in 1982, turning 37 this year. Father of 5 kids married 12 years. 9 years army reserve, nearly 12 years as an LEO. I was blessed to have some influential men in my childhood who introduced me to the love of the outdoors at a young age and led me on some grand adventures. My parents...

    Windshield Pics...

Seeing out your windshield is so overrated lol I remember once driving with my dad in Maple Ridge and there was a sudden downpour so intense that we couldn't even drive at 30kph with the wipers on full speed and had to pull over and wait. Was absolutely nuts. Never seen the like of it before or...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Nevermind that, tell me about that sexy RD1 CR-V in the background! :P j/k How do you find those clip on mirrors? Do they help with technical driving? I've been seeing a lot of them around lately and I was wondering.

The official OTO "Ozark Trail Overland" gear thread!

Hey fellas, I'm thinking this conversation is probably veering dangerously close to an off topic political one. I respectfully suggest moving to PM's or calling it a day on this one.

    Old mines, ghost towns, etc......

Vandals absolutely infuriate me. The worst kind of alpha hotels... There used to be an awesome 4x4 route that went along Chilliwack lake almost to the border, but they blocked it at some point due to...you guessed it, vandals.

Distance between home and the start of a trail

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Used it to pick up this bad boy in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave: Old Sears Gamefisher 3hp outboard - the power plant that will carry our Northern BC expedition to the shores of glory and adventure! :D I also fabbed and fitted the feet for my roof rack. No pics ATM but I hope...

WHY did you choose YOUR rig?!

Same all over BC - super tight trails, often with steep drops

Judging by your license plate, I would guarantee you know my uncle! lol He was your boss before ;)

No kidding, my uncle lives in Fanny Bay! Small world. I'll look for your rig next time I'm up visiting lol

Does this caltopo let you save files that gaia can import?

    Gaia or....

I keep hearing about how great GAIA is, but honestly I'm not seeing it. It runs like buggy crap on both my PC on either Chrome or Firefox (basically non-functional on firefox) and it's very buggy and broken on Android as well, from what I've seen. I want to like GAIA, but I'm honestly baffled...

    1999 Honda CR-V - "Ganbaru"

True, as does weight distribution - the RD1 CR-V has near perfect front/rear weight distribution. 53/47 if my memory serves.
