I like the idea of not buying vehicle specific. As much as possible, mostly for reasons of economy, most of the "overlanding" gear I've bought can be transferred from my existing rig to a future rig if need be. Even my roof rack is modular and can be removed and adapted to a new vehicle if...
Was prototyping my awning idea in the wee hours of this morning (just after midnight...)
And I had a curious late night visitor pay a call and check out my rig...
FINALLY finished and mounted my roof rack. I can't tell you how stoked I was when the feet slid onto the roof studs. It took a LOT of fiddling to make this thing work lol Sorry for the crappy photos, but it's 1am and I just finished.
Lunch too! :P
We could do a run up West Harrison, too, maybe, if everyone's keen...

There are some restrictions on what vehicles are admissible - any vehicle less than 15...
Hey all,
I posted a rally point for a OB Western Canada meetup. I plan to float the idea of a convoy to BCOR through West Harrison at this event and see what kind of response I get. If you're keen on it, come on out and meet your local OB peeps...
I'll be very interested to know what you think of the off road performance of the new style Rav4. I love the look and geometry of the RD1's, but after that I find them pretty bleh. The new one is stylish, but it looks overly car-like in my opinion. At least it doesn't look like a potato lol
If...
