So I am not sure what is going on with my truck lately.. It has factory dual batteries that are just over 3 years old. This past weekend I went camping and the truck was parked with no accessories draining the truck batteries. When I went to start the truck, after 3 days of camping, the truck...
In my opinion it's mostly for style. That being said yes youd also have to just carry one spare for both vehicle and trailer, but if the trailer and vehicle both happen to get a flat at the same time, you're still screwed. Personally I would carry at least 2 spares, one for trailer and one for...
Imho if you're dead set on keeping the jeep I would just pony up for a new jasper motor. 4.0 motors are pretty simple to swap even for just your common shade tree mechanic can swap a motor in a weekend.

All great points brother. Cb is a lot more common than ham so my thought is we make Cb a requirement for the trip. I picked up a uniden handheld Cb for $45 On Amazon. Given the amount of participants in the trip and all of the people interested, if they don't have a cb they can easily pick up...
Cb is the way to go. I planned to bring my frs radios and a cb and I also will have a ham but unless I can manage to get my license before this trip I won't be talking on the ham.

I'm just cruising to soak it all up since this is one of my bucket list trips.. Plus going fast across the desert probably isn't good for two small children I will have with me.
Just let me know when you want payment for permits. I'm in for whatever needs to happen. And as discussed I am also willing to be tail gunner for one of the groups.
It could be worse. Looks like you managed to get off the freeway which is important with kids in tow. Keep me updated and let me know what you get home.
