    Jeep Badge of Honor?

If things go as planned, I’ll fill up this fender in 2018.

    Jeep Badge of Honor?

I did 10 BOH trails this year. It took anywhere from 3 mo to 7 mo. to get the badges. I am still waiting on two from the end of summer. If you call the Jeep hotline, they will have no idea what you are talking about. I was hung up on, transferred, etc until about the 3rd or 4th person I spoke to...

    Ready to embrace propane...finally

Coleman makes a 2 piece distribution post that attaches right to your propane tank. It allows you to mount a lantern to the the top and has two taps on the side that you hook those adapter hoses to. So, I use a Weber grill, a Camp stove and my lantern off of one propane tank. The post breaks...

    LED lighting Q's

Others have already alluded to this, but go with the bumper light first. The 50" bar whistles like crazy on a JK. You will find all kinds of remedies like caulk, wire, isolators, etc. in the grooves to help but it will always be an issue. You get zero hood glare from a bumper light too. One...

So there are some okies here. I've been wondering about that. I in SE OKC just south of Draper Lake. I'm always looking for local people to get out and wheel or camp with.

    On the Trail Cooking

A pretty tasty snack your kids will enjoy is to make a few extra flapjacks at breakfast and use them for pb&j sandwiches later. Ok, the grown ups like them too. I learned this from some kayakers who don’t want to pack bread.

    Colorado or bust

You still have time to trade your truck in on a Wrangler. =) Poughkeepsie will probably be a bit much for you. I think you might be fine on the rest if you air down and take it slow. The guide book is a good place to start. When you get there, start with the easy trails and work your way up...

Do you take time to leave it better than you found it?

I live in the country and I've often wondered this same thing because every time I mow, I find them outside my front fence. My conclusion is that beer cans/bottles are evidence. I think the classy people who drive around drinking while driving like to dispose of the open containers as...

    New Mexico Trip

Goose Lake is the most popular. It's a fairly easy drive. The road gets a little narrow but nothing too technical. Its very scenic at the top and there is a vertical hike you can take (probably 1,000 ft. elevation) where you can see all the way to Taos. You can actually hike to Taos from there...

    Beavers Bend/Broken Bow, Oklahoma

Holler at me if you’re going back in late December and want some company. If it’s not too cold, I might see if any of my kids want to take a camping trip over their Christmas break. We’d be coming from Oklahoma City.

    4x2??

The above posters are correct. If this is an insane deal you can’t pass up, go for it. However, that thing better be dirt cheap because the demand for a 4x2 Wrangler is almost nill. It probably started it’s life as a rental vehicle too. Just beware and understand if you ever change your mind, it...

    Tires...my achilles heel...

I am a Ridge Grappler fan boy. They are great and completely quiet on the road and I have been very impressed with their off road capabilities. I believe they are 10 ply too. Check out their customer reviews.

    Day Trippin - 12/03/2017

I like the big Ford. Is that a diesel F250? You all are lucky to be able to day trip an area like that. It takes me a day trip to get to an area like that. Good for you!

    Using a Generator while camping?

You can always sell it later but it’s hard to find a good used one. Hang on to it for a while and see if you have a good use for it. If it hasn’t been used in 18mo. then sell it.
