US East Central NH Rigs and Brew (finally)

Ah, thank you Tommy. Seems like the "going", "not going", and "conversation" buttons were located in a footer at the bottom of my phone and were disappearing if I wasn't hovering over them juuust right. A reboot fixed it. Maybe I AM unfrozen.

US East Central NH Rigs and Brew (finally)

I found it, eventually. I might be just an unfrozen caveman lawyer, but can they make it any harder to for someone to opt in to one of these meet-ups?! Maybe its just my device but theres no way to make a selection that I'm attending. I know I eventually found it for the last one, but it...

Also did not get a notification, at least, I don't think I did. I'll check it out and see

Let's see those full size rigs - Trucks & SUV

I would love to do that with a Tahoe or old K5 Blazer

Let's see those full size rigs - Trucks & SUV

Excellent! So well done. To all outward appearances it's just an older but well maintained family truckster, but it has an aggressive stance, a comfy rear end, and a few tricks up its sleeve

How do you get weather updates with no cell service?

Here in New England, the weather can change any minute. Also, I remember when we didnt have cell phones or the internet, so we would prepare best we could and move on. I like to try to always be prepared. I check the ten day forecast, understanding that the further out, the less accurate it's...

"New England" or "Nor'East US" region proposal

Thanks, Sneaks. I dont really know what the process is from here or how many signers-on are needed for this to move forward, but I thought this would be a good idea.

"New England" or "Nor'East US" region proposal

Hello everyone, If this is not the proper place for this, mods please let me know and I'll be happy to comply. I wondered how everyone - and speciifically others in New England - feel about petitioning for the East to be split, so that New England (or the Northeast, North East, or Nor'Easter)...

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

Very nice! I'd love to find a set of steps or sliders like that which extend as near the rear wheel as they do the front. It would help reaching in for cargo from the sides

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

Although I happen to have a lot of hand tools and such, I am not a mechanic. So I like to try what I can, and have to watch my limits. Sometimes I think I'm going to save $ but I hit a snag and, whoops! This was definitely one of those times. I'll get some pics up. I got everything out OK, but...

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

I will say, without a proper shop or a wall-mounted heavy duty spring compressor, swapping out the front coil-overs is best left to a professional. So, while I removed the front, I did ultimately have to bring them to a shop for compression and swap out. By the time I paid for that, I maybe...

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

I can imagine that a set of Fox on a Wrangler are where it's at! But as for trucks, specifically a Z71...wow. This 2014 Sierra is the nicest truck I've ever owned. Smoothest ride and all even with the Ranchos. These Bilsteins on this z71 just bring it to a higher place. A place where it should...

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

I think the normal GM truck k1500 suspension is pretty cushy. The Z71, some say is a little stiffer. Offroad is supposed to be softer, but these trucks are like riding on a cloud to begin with. These Bilstein 5100's seem to really be making a difference, though. Still a really nice ride without...

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

Right on, Cary. Before installing them, I put on 3 coats of clearcoat, to help preserve the metallic finish in this wet, salty, and humid New England environment. I told the girlfriend I was going for a test drive yesterday and was gone an hour and a half just trying highway, slow turns, fast...

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

I just installed Bilstein 5100's in my 2014 GMC Sierra Z71 K1500. Ho. Ly. F*k. I got them from Kolak. I think he mostly hangs on the Jeep forums. I did business with him a year or two ago for my '99 Grand Cherokee. He hasn't steered me wrong yet. These Bilstein shocks are an amazing upgrade...

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

I'm no expert, but I think, if you are talking rock climbing or rugged trail riding, a Jeep, a Taco, or a Colorado is where it's at. I get the idea that over-landing is different than that, so the bigger trucks can actually do very well. I hope so, anyway. I'm using my Sierra

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

Nice set-up. I have a Sierra k1500 and I often think my next one will be a 2500. The jury is still out on that. I just dont tow all that often, though theres a possibility that may change. Really nice Sierra!

I love those older GMT 400 series trucks! And that scenery is something to behold.
