I don't get the naming trend. I think everyone in the local Jeep Club has a nickname for their Jeep that they fell the need to emblazon upon the hood of said Jeep. Mine is just "The Jeep" or a long line of expletives when I'm working on it.
Here's the adapter I'm talking about. So I can run this on either of the NMO mounts I have on my Jeep with something like a fire stick.
But I rarely use that part and just use my NMO CB whip antenna when I do run a CB in the Jeep.
It's NMO. CB antennas are kind of their own animal when it comes to threading. I run all NMO bases and if I dont' want to run my NMO CB antenna for whatever reason I have a NMO to CB (3/8-24) adapter.
I went with this Magellan unit from Academy to replace my Coleman dual fuel unit. Not because the Coleman failed but because it took up a lot of space and I wanted something "thinner". IT's worked well for me so far...
Pull your codes and figure out what they are. With the low cost of bluetooth OBD readers out here now there's no reason to not have one.
Here's what I would do for checking the health of the engine. Buy a vacuum gauge, buy a fuel pressure gauge, buy a compression tester. These are all things...
Not just California. Less than 4 percent of cars sold are with manuals nation wide. With only 25 or so percent of models sold in the US even being avaliable with a manual.
I think if most of the YOutube overland channels did what you did they would find they are bumping or well over their GVWR.
You can probably drop the bumper, put a 2 inch receiver up there and then use a winch in a cradle. Armor up what is actually an issue, and drive with a modicum of...
I've spent the last hour or so searching for any FORD involvement in the HMMWV design and can find nothing.
Anyway here's pictures of each design. I'm not seeing HMMWV in the front of the BRONCO with exception of they're both IFS.
Unless the Bronco is using a portal axle setup I fail to see how it's like the HMMWV. Where's the info that they are using the same suspension design?
I've never seen ANY info about Ford working on anything for AM General. If you have different info I'd love to read it. AM General was owned...
The BDRs are setup for adventure motorcycles, but I've never seen Butler Maps say that 4x4s aren't allowed. Big ol pigs of motorcycles (I own one lol). IF it's a good road for a GS1200 or the like it'll work in most cases for a truck or Jeep as well.
I can see the reluctance to let...
The shortest I would go is the Ghost/Phantom style antennas that look like little cans. Honestly a 1/4 wave GMRS antenna is going to be about 6 inches long. You can get a PCTEL commerical band 1/4 wave that cost 9-12 dollars and stick it on there. The chances of it being ripped off are very...
If you want plug and play working right out of the box then Midland. They have some downsides but most of them work for 99 percent of people's uses. None of their handhelds for instance have repeater capability. Their top of the line MXT400 doesn't offer NOAA weather stations because it's a...
Check www.jeepcables.com That's where I got my prebuilt set of XJ battery and ground cables. I could have built them for cheaper but the guy does top notch work, and it's something I don't regret spending the money on. Any decent shop should be able to put them in for you...
Replacement parts. When possible and financially feasible I buy OEM. With my old Jeep that's getting harder and harder to do as the old stock of OEM parts is slowly depleted. I'll go as far as pulling OEM parts from the JY but with the age of these vehicles and the dwindling supply of JY...
