Air intake and exhaust. Is it worth it?

Not on a FJ but on my XJ I modded the stock airbox to draw air from the cowling area which is where the HVAC system gets it's air from. This also moves the intake up to the base of the windshield. Exhaust I just left stock.

    Do You Carry Spare Parts?

I carry the sensors that will leave me stranded, a serpentine belt and a u-joint of each size I need. Honestly I'll probably take those out and leave them behind next trip. There's not a whole lot I need to bring. There are parts stores and post offices all over the US, it's freed up a lot of...

    Radios??

HAM, GMRS, CB, APRS Not all at the same time but I can operate HAM and GMRS at the same time then I have another radio section in the vehicle that I swap back and forth from APRS to CB as needed. My radios are a mix of cheap Chinese stuff and surplus Motorola gear.

    Beavers Bend/Broken Bow, Oklahoma

I'll share a few GAIA waypoints for ya here to get you started. This one is creek side with a pull though that should work for your trailer. Last time I was there the creek was flowing and made for a nice place ot stay as I could cool off in the creek...

    Beavers Bend/Broken Bow, Oklahoma

Plenty of dispersed sites. Many with plenty of room for a trailer. I suggest just going up and start hitting the dirt roads and you won't be on there long before you start finding sites.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Got the tub off and power washed along with the frame. We though the frame was full of mud. Was actually full of dirt dauber nests. Those things are quite resistant to even the power washer but I think i got the frame blasted out. Got the caked on oil blasted off as well. Going to roll the...

    Morale Patch Collecting

Many headliners are fuzzy enough to work as the loop part of velcro so the patches will just stick up there.

    Spare Fluids on board

Even if it's got a little moisture contamination it'll work good enough to get you home where you can repair the system which will probably require a flush/bleed anyway.

    Spare Fluids on board

I used to carry a lot of spare fluids. OVer time I carried less and less till now I basically carry none. I have a quart of oil and a half quart of ATF now, in MSR fuel bottles. Everything else is gone. My XJ does leak a little oil, about a quart every 2500-3000 miles. If I didn't leak that...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Managed to hobble around the shop enough to change the oil on the XJ and pulled a few more things off of the CJ. Really want my leg to get better so I can get this tub off lol.

    GMRS info request

That first graphic is one of my favorite to share when people start getting really worked up on high gain antennas. Many times in the terrain we work in that's counter productive.

Don't forget medical gear at home (GRAPHIC CONTENT)

Was working on my new CJ5 project out in the garage trying to cut the horribly built front bumper/winch setup off. While cutting an upright on the bullbar the grinder (with cut off wheel) got caught and it ripped it out of my hands and fell to my shin. It cut me quite deep and the bleeding...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

This morning I got up and busted out a few hours of work getting the interior ripped out and a few other odds and ends removed like the home made roll bar and the rotting windshield frame. One of the POs did some "interesting" wiring on the Jeep. Should be a fun project and not too much effort...

What's a good way to charge my 12v battery box?

I run a double ended male cigarette lighter port plug to charge my box while "underway". I've seen no issues with this but I"m far from an expert on it. As long as I don't leave it plugged in when the Jeep is off for extended periods of time I shouldn't have any "dueling" battery issues but...
