What are some options for good gas mileage in overlanding vehicles?

I will say this, though. I can get 420 highway miles out of my 25 gallon tank easily. Often more than that if I'm gentle on the skinny pedal. I do have a Trac Rac on top of my camper shell, but I'm talking with nothing on the rack. I try to keep everything tucked in under the shell. As others...

What are some options for good gas mileage in overlanding vehicles?

Not bad! Even my gas 5.3 liter '14 GMC Sierra can top out at 29.9 mpg on any given 25 mile stretch. Thats not the norm, though. Longer term, it does tend to dip a little lower, especially since I daily drive it to work and theres slow traffic half the way

I wanna run solar on my camper shell

Would like to do this and also the second battery for my GMC. To have both options. For one reason or another over the past year, I never got to either project. Watching

What do you guys do with your dogs?

Scout (the Beagle, the Thunder Beagle) has a Kurgo Tru-Fit harness which can plug into the seat belt receiver with the included tether, or wrap around a seatbelt with a second tether with a swivel carabiner. Crash tested. Stainless "nesting" hardware like linesmen use, as opposed to plastic...

    Overlanders Spotted ….

For me, on my Leer truck camp shell, I put stickers of places we've been (Badlands and Yellowstone for example), gear we use (Bilstein shocks, Kurgo dog harness or example) and sometimes places where I've made purchases (Hilton's Tent City, previously of Boston now in Cambridge). Im not all...

    Dealer Protection Packages

Good post. The statement COULD end right there. Nitrogen is a frigging joke pulled on people who know no better. Unless you are in NASCAR or driving on the surface of the moon, Nitrogen is a gimmick of no value to the consumer.

    Whoa FCC ? Can't finish

I dont get why we need an FRN in order to purchase a GMRS license from the Federal government. It's not as if we dont pay the feds $ all the time for services and documents without an FRN. They take our tax money without an FRN (for individuals of course). Anyone know why? Do you have to do the...

    2014 Silverado 1500 Build

Nice build. Everything you need. Nothing you don't. I like the original grey wagon wheel style rims. I've got the same gen Sierra and plan to use those rims when I upgrade my tires. The k2500 tow mirrors are a nice touch too. That's something else I would like to do
