    ORBDR 1 & 2 in May?

PNW has had some recent storms that effected Oregon. I have no info to offer but I would bet money that sections of the route will be impassable for at least another month.

    Bye Felicia

Life in a bubble sounds boring to me, and yeah I think I agree with the sentiment that logic doesn't exist anymore since it's been aged out. The internet has outgrown the "yep" circles. Diversity of opinions is far more valuable in the quest for knowledge, understanding, and evolution.

lol some people just don't like conversation if it consists of countering perspectives. It's not a personal attack, it's just offering another perspective.

    Bye Felicia

If you shovel snow or mud, putting that in the trunk with the family's luggage, fridge, electronics, etc.. isn't ideal. I like to keep the elements on the outside, and the inside dry, comfortable, and clean as possible. Having a clean and climate controlled place to escape to on long...

    Bye Felicia

I take all that stuff off, but my jeep isn't a daily driver anyway. Shovel is a necessity for campfires and if you don't have a truck bed, racks are the best way to carry them.

If that means that my favorite campsites won't be taken when I arrive there, then I hope you're right.

    Wood or Propane fire pit

FireCrate 50cal ammo can fire pit with their 20psi regulator. Produces a good flame and propane is way more convenient than carrying around firewood. You don't get the nostalgic smell but you don't have to worry about fire bans during wildfire season. I've yet to see something that out performs...

    Offroad Recovery Gear Questions

Do you use a steel cable on your winch? Snatch blocks/pulleys? Generally speaking, snatch blocks that work with a D ring are not compatible with winch ropes. These require steel cable and actually weigh a lot (like 20lbs each). A pulley that works with winch ropes are not compatible with D...

    Portable water heater?

I've been using the Joolca Hot Tap and it's been great for us. I only take it with us when we're going out for extended trips of 4 days or more. https://www.joolca.com/products/hottap-v2

    Water crossing fail

The clickbait was the thread title and a video that didn't show a result. So while your organic video may not be, the context of how you presented your video to us on the forum was clickbait. Thank you for following up with a better link. Sorry to hear about the motor.

    Offroad Recovery Gear Questions

Have both. They each have their place. Soft shackles weigh nothing and can fit in the bag with your straps or ropes. Cheap also if you get some of the import brands. I use D ring shackles on bumpers with mounts for them and soft shackles pretty much everywhere else. The bumper tabs for D-Ring...

Unexpected Site Outage Brief | March 31st - April 1st

I also work in network and software security for a large cloud software corp and a business impacting outage is a severity 1 case with a 4 hour response time, and people on standby to provide hourly updates to the client. It's simple to match logs to actions taken by the customer. 24 hours of...

Unexpected Site Outage Brief | March 31st - April 1st

An egregious knee jerk reaction that severely impacts a person's trust in Amazon's services and support.

    When #vanlife goes horribly wrong.

I just wonder, if he was really there in the moment then why did it take 4 years to make a video on it? I watch some of Jailbreak's videos. Preferred his older content though because now it really seems to tug at dramatizing events, even when the events aren't dramatic.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

That's awesome. I have to maintain a certain level of comfort to keep my family coming out. lol, I hope that one day my son gets to a point that we can simplify things and my wife can stay at home, because she doesn't really love camping like I do. My son is just too young right now so I need...

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

I'm going to grab one also. They're 100 bucks off right now and don't go on sale very often. I have a toddler with a tablet and as much as I want him disconnected while out there, it's a good learning tool and works for bed time movies so he doesn't get scared at night.

    Overland "Types?"

There's some that clean up their trash. Then there's some that don't clean up their trash We hate the ones that don't clean up their trash.

    Diesel heaters

Regarding thermostats... Unless you have a really good 12v power source, you might be better off just leaving it running all night long on the lowest setting and regulate temperature by opening a window. Diesel heaters use a lot of 12v power to warm up the glow plugs at startup, and tents don't...

    Diesel heaters

For the most part, 5Kw and 8Kw are basically the same heater with software limitations in place so don't get hung up on these two sizes. The cheap ones are mostly all the same but you'll start to see better build quality if you want to spend around 300+. Go with Vevor if you aren't sure and...
