Last night I worked on getting the Smittybilt XRC 17.5 mounted to the FabFours plate. This WAS NOT a straight up bolt together job. It required me to elongate the factory holes as well as drill 4 new ones. But this allowed me to use all 8 bottom bolts which I felt was really important...
Yesterday was a pretty nice day here in Southeastern Washington so I was able to get the sliders mounted. Not an easy task to tackle solo being that they weigh over 100#'s each.

Make sure you buy the authentic $19.99 programming cable. They have a chip in them. The cheap knock offs sometimes don't work. Ask me how I know.
You could always drill a few exter holes in the rim....lol....just kidding. My,....just thinking out loud here,...My only concern would be air flow. I am going to assume that in front of the radiator, you also may have a trans cooler, and an AC condenser. If the truck stays cool while climbing...

Yeah, i will wire them into my switchpros unit and hook up a trigger wire to the door lights. This will allow them to be activated when unlocking the truck and by pushing a button on the dash.
