I am not a jeep guy, but i would think that it may be wise to upgrade the front D30 to something stronger, then regear the rear to match. Probably similar cost.
Hey all!
So I made a 2000 mile round trip a few weeks ago to scoop up this 1965 International Travelall Panel (D1200).
The D1200 is a 3/4 ton 4x4 delivery truck, and seem to be a fairly rare rig. Currently has a V8 304ci gas motor with a 4 speed floor shift manual trans (t-19..I think). The 4...
I am a Pipefitter/Welder by trade. I would absolutly say...YES! Go for it! Becoming a "hobbyist" welder is not hard.
First, Picking a machine that will do the job can be intimidating. All depends on your budget. I will say that I have owned an Eastwood Mig 175 for almost 8 years. I cant tell...
Great discussion topic!
I am no PNW expert, however I really love the desert landscapes in the winter. So sticking to the lower elevations in the winter might be it.
I have been using google earth to do some recon along the Columbia River and some of the foothills looking for potential spots.
Hey Steve! Welcome to the crew.
That’s a nice setup. Trailer as a base camp and a reliable truck to explore! I like it.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Short term goal is to just get it on the road and start building the interior out for camping.
Ultimate goal is to do a 5.9 Cummins swap which would basically swap the entire running gear including axles into it. Add a 4-6” lift and at least 37’s.
Hey Craig,
Welcome to the group. We are obviously getting into the tough months for getting into the mountains but I don’t want that to slow us down.
This group has at least a couple of guys that are able to assist with rig upgrades over the snowy months. It’s also a great time to think about...
It’s a ‘65, 4wd. I was told it was the larger 345ci. It’s been about 6 years since I wrecked my scout so I need to refresh my memory on the difference between the 304 and 345. It runs well. Has a 4 speed manual. But no brakes. It’s currently getting fuel from a rigged lawnmower tank. Cleaning...
I would partake in this. In the same harvest boat though. It is winding down for me and should be my last busy week. Have hauls on Wednesday Thursday and Friday and one to la grande on Sunday. I might be able to swap Sunday to the Saturday prior. That would allow for a Sunday run.
I will probably stay out here until the grapes start hauling. This is keeping my health insurance and pension going.
Would love to meet up. Maybe somewhere around Mt. St. Helens and Packwood. I did some driving around there a few years ago. Found a couple FS camps and lakes that had basically...
Still working down in Oregon. I got the opportunity to be part of history.......116* in Portland! Headed up to the mountains in an attempt to find cooler weather and maybe dip my toes in water. Unfortunately, the entire Oregon population had the same water goal, but i did find a secluded little...
