It will be interesting to see what they come up with if this goes ahead, it was also an interesting read of the various military post service support. Like the UK and Australia nothing in Canada, other have a nice day and you can fight the government for post service support if you go hurt...
@JimBill thanks for taking the time to respond, the Rover V8 has solid push rod design, with the filter off the right side. There are no known adjusting kits for the gears. Generally the pressure issues with these are the gears as you mentioned, and the bottom end wearing.
I am not...
@AE5TE
The Discovery II basically has an old 60's Buick engine, and you are right for the most part the low pressure light comes on at 6 psi. But over the years it has been found that heavier oil works better with gear style pump these use, particularly as the engine ages. So as they get hot...
Checked oil pressure on my Disco, they tend to get lower pressure with age.
Oil in use Mobil Vr1 10/30 Synthetic - it has better performance than the Rotella 15/40, but it may be a little thin for these old push rod engines
Filter M301
I do have a tick hence the pressure testing
Seems good...
@Autism Family Travels Well I would say on an average day trip I see anywhere from 1 to 15 black bears. As I am only 1 hour out of Vancouver so no grizz, but we get a black on the deck every now and then. That is always exciting, they come over the chain link looking for food and water. Not...
@trikebubble Top one a Dominion Arms shorty ?
This not the place to argue the Liberals doing the same stuff they have for the last 40 years, each time expecting a different result from the same action. All you can do is support the orgs, write a million letters (keep calm and rational) to...
@Autism Family Travels Black bears are a bit more a of problem in some odd ways,
They are far more likely to be habituated to humans
They are omnivores so think of them like really big raccoons they will rummage through garbage so they like campsites
They are very smart and good memories of...
Here in BC that is just load the truck and go, I could spend 3 days just getting to the Kamloops area and that is 3.5 hours hi-way drive from home. It actually describes a lot of my summers, I tell my wife I am heading for some place give her the general route and go. I camp where I find a...
Well that is absurd, my bet is it never happens looks like a real nice 3d mockup and not much more. Too much money for what you get, mind you if they make a go of it good on them
Plastic scrubbing cloth, very hot water, minimal soap. I use a military style wash basin, as a wash up area.
If I can have a fire I have a small pit beside the fire with a tin can in it for waste water. I just let the water boil off and collect the can. In very sensitive area's I use a old...
I run a older Kenwood 710 with out the built in TNC and an old handheld Garmin Etrex for GPS. It works very well for APRS. My APRS usage is for the wife's piece of mind, she can at least at some point during the day check my location. It is hard in BC with all the mountains, but I can...
@smlobx Border will be closed until late June, currently 21st is the soonest it will open, BC may keep it closed beyond that. Even if it opens before that you may be required to quarantine for 14 days.
I am trying to figure out how to do a 3 day trip in a V8 Discovery without buying gas in a...
My trips always have a destination, but is more about heading in that direction than getting there. I can do about 8 hours driving if I want but mostly I limit myself to 6, which gives an bit of time if the campsite choice turn out to unusable or I just want to check some place out.
That is...
