I’ve had the weathershields on my roof rack in strong rain with no problems. The little blue latch on the side isn’t as strong as something you’d find on a better case, so take care of them. I’ve been thinking of drilling out the plastic peg and putting a metal one in place.

I use the same. They’re great. Bought them for around $6 a piece. 3 of them stacked on top of each other make a good side table.

Ran about 30% of the FS roads around Wilson’s Creek and Linville Gorge. Mostly in decent shape. Make sure you’ve got gloves, an axe, and saw with you. Also, check to make sure your winch doesn’t need servicing.

I’ve got a TJ as well, so I’ll look here or someplace else, but I’d love to swap some ideas on tips and tricks.

Thanks Gents. There was a version 1 that didn’t turn out so well, but that’s part of it. Tinkering is part of the fun. Going to try popcorn on the disc next. Cinnamon rolls were a big hit.

Nice, I think i grabbed the 22” one. Mine has handles. I used 3 pieces of 3/4” EMT and made a tripod and used some cable to lock it to the right tripod diameter. I’m using a Coleman single burner from Walmart to heat it. Packs up small and I’ve had a blast cooking on it over the weekend...

Was up there last Sunday as well. Finishing up a backpacking trip. Muddier than usual due to the rains.

Hurricane should be nice and slippery after the rain. Have fun. Stay to the right on that first water crossing.

Backpacker before I discovered Overlanding. A trowel and unscented TP. 6" cathole dug way off the beaten path. Wetwipes back at camp, packed out. Similar approach for overlanding.

Bummed I missed the Smoky Mtn overland rally. Forgot about it and didn’t remember until a few of you posted. I don’t see a thread on here or anyplace else. How was it? Anyone posting their recaps anywhere? This forum or others? Thanks
