Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Tried sitting the disc with no legs on one side of my two burner stove. Not a great fit. Was hoping it would only take up one side and the other would be available. More flexibility is always a winner, but oh well. Still works great as a stand alone disc cooker.
Too wobbly and unstable. Maybe with some kind of insert for the tubing. This stand also provides a solution for mounting the burner without modifying the disc. I can still use the disc the way it was originally intended. I’m going to try it sitting on one half of my two burner stove to see how...
The concave surface works like a wok, so you have levels of heat intensity.. hottest at the bottom center and so on. Same way on a grill you move stuff to and from the hotspots. Steam cooking/baking does well with the shape which opens up a lot of options. Also, it’s just a fun way to cook...
I got the 22” disc from a tractor supply. Here’s the link: https://www.agrisupply.com/bbq-disc-blade-discada/p/85077/
No paint to deal with, just a protective coating. Doesn’t season as well as cast iron, but it does pretty good.
That looks great, nice work. My last pic is from the first one I made which is a 22" disc. Agreed, they're a lot of fun to cook on. Nice job on your leg receivers.
I posted this on another site, so apologies if any of you saw it there. One of the guys on that site posted about a small disc cooker he found on amazon that resembled a skottle. It had short legs and was intended to go on a campfire, but it's cast iron and there was potential there. I have a...
You could use PVC molding. Easy to shape with heat. Uniform and structural to a degree.

Good to hear the Richland rd run was fun. Did it about 2 months ago. Any problems on that first little ledge coming out of the creek? Hurricane is fun, easier than Richland. Do it after some rain to add some more excitement. Great looking rig.
I'm down in Charlotte, but I backpack in the gorge a lot especially during winter. I hang out with a group that does some trail work up there (Gorge Rats). Looks like you're in MoTown, so you may know a few of them. We may have even crossed paths at som point. (Green jeep TJ with a roof rack)...
I was up on 105 this past weekend. The southern part is in great shape, but the northern part has a couple of spots that are rutted out pretty good. Should be no problems with 4wd, but I was behind an outback and some cross over I didn't recognize and neither could make it. Couple of trees were...
I met some friends in the NC mountains for a little post Christmas gathering, and got a chance to test out the OT Tent Cot. I have to say, I'm happy.
We'd had a lot of rain before I got there, and more rain forecasted for the weekend. It was dark during setup, but it went easy. I found a piece...
First impressions are pretty good. My wife got a sore throat on Christmas day, so I gave her the bed and set up the cot without the fly. Quality seems good, setup was easy, slept well, and I'm pleased with how much room there is inside. I'm heading out this weekend and plan to give it a test...
