Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I am watching the Overland Expedition South America series on Amazon right now. There is some great resouces in the series, but tis the inspiration that sealed the deal for me to want to do it. Patagonia is #1 on my bucket list.
The road gets used going to it. Tracks are free of weeds and debris. Turn around at the end is clean too. Who ever goes there, walks up there. No tracks across the perimeter of the property. Single wide trailer. Must be sitting on or near the ground as there are no stairs leading up to it...
Two things to consider:
There arent many of these out there yet so the potential issues are truly unknown.
2 weeks is probably a guesstimate. With Covid related delays, it may take more time.
Like the above, I try to carry everything to fit under my passenger seat. Everything you have listed above, but I add allens and torx bits because my rig has quite a few. I also carry a 18" torque wrench in 3/8 and 1/2". Leverage is a good thing. Last, is a simple tap and die set. It all fits...
Its kind of funny. They literally have taken everything that we as overlanders/campers/offroaders have created over the past 10 years or so... and put it in a utilitarian, mass market rig. Jeep did the same thing when they came out with the JL. They took tons of products and ideas form the...
Your rig is far more capable than others here make it sound. I've done most passes in Ouray/Silverton/Telluride. I have not done Black Bear (need a spotter and I always travel alone), Bear Creek or Poughkipsie due to difficulty level . Eventually i will one I travel or meet someone with more...
Pulled the roof rack off for some functional changes. I have loaded the bins on the back every trip think it is contributing to some sagging once fully loaded. I am moving my mounting points forward, my Max Trax to the back to better place weight towards the center. I am also adding a mesh...
6-8 weeks. I work from home so as long as I have an internet connection once a week'ish I am good to go. My wife cant get that kind of time but she has never been to Alaska. It will be a mix of camping for several days with the odd campground or hotel to shower and eat a proper meal. Ferry will...
Northern AZ is far different than southern. Mogollan, Flagstaff, San Francisco's can have closures and most trails can be challenging, depending on that seasons snow.
Very little becomes impassable in the winter unless it rains. Silt based mud is the enemy. While there are not a lot of direct off-road routes, there are a ton of trails in and around Tombstone and Bisbee. In the summer some of them can have some sketchy characters (camping; ie - Breaking Bad)...
There are a ton. Here is the ultimate guide to abandoned mining towns around CO:

All Ouray/Silverton/Telluride mountains are closed due to a decent early snow. They wont reopen until summer.
My @Texas.Alaska trip is completely planned. Routes, camping, ferry service, rig, air travel as my wife is meeting me in Anchorage on the way to Prudhoe Bay. So what to do now? Watching Expedition Overland South America. Patagonia is at the top of my bucket list. Ive been to Prudhoe Bay before...
It gets chilly down there considering it reaches 4,800' elevation. Have never done that route. I've done a lot of stuff east of there in Tombstone/Bisbee out to the the NM border. No one out there but a few illegals and border patrol in Jan/Feb, but again, it gets pretty chilly due to elevation...
Depends on where you go. 13k' in Colorado in June can have snow, where in Phoenix it can be 113F. Late fall in out of the ordinary places like Bisbee, AZ, Bryce Canyon, UT, are awesome.
IMO, best tiems to travel:
Ouray/Silverton/Telluride/Montrose, CO - mid June to usually early November...
It all started by wanting to go tot he mountains with friends, but I was too big with little flexibility to ski or snowboard. Plus I weighed 350-365lbs at the time. I went snowshoeing instead. That got me out of the gym and outside. Living in Seattle made that a ton easier too. That led to...
