    Military Trailer Overland Build

I like your idea. My table is a 1 x 12, 6 feet long that slides in right next to the food box. Hardly know it's there.

    Just an ole country vet

I put my heavy food box right at the rear end tailgate to help offset the tongue weight. But then I mounted the spare tire on the side, upfront, and put more weight on the tongue. Ouch.

    Quietest ATs?

KO2 A/T from BFGoodrich Tires is amazingly quiet for a very rugged tire. Traction is unbeatable in my experience.

Is that baby tongue heavy with all those cool goodies upfront?

    West Virginia/NOVA

I posted up in your first thread on one way to get things started.

    Sad in Eastern West Virginia

From my experience with trails like the Rubicon, the first step is to gather the troops and get a band of brothers behind you/the cause. Start a "friends" type group/club/coalition (informal) and find out just how many folks are like-minded and want the same thing. Something like Overlanders...

    Overland Trailers

I am not sure what that is, but mine is an M100 WWII vintage tub I found in an apple orchard decades ago.

    Overland Trailers

I put my build pics in the build forum, but here's my newly refurbished, upgraded, home-built overland trailer. Yes, I love camo!

    Military Trailer Overland Build

Here you go. Camp set up and ready to cook. The "table" is just a painted 1 x 12 shelf board supported by an expandable walking stick. Naturally I'll have a trash sack handy, as well as some wind screen options, but overall, this will be what my camp will look like. 5 minutes from parked...

    Military Trailer Overland Build

I decided to fill in the gap between the 2x6 framework and the trailer gunnel with some 1/4 round (painted and caulked with flexible, paintable stuff). And yes, I am just learning to do miter cuts with wood. Practice needed. And this is it with the lid open on both the storage area and the...

    Military Trailer Overland Build

And now I'm mocking up a cooking table/stand and a lid to keep out the dust and rain. Working on that while "stuck at home."

By the way, I love camo. So after some sand blasting (kind of an ugly job to do yourself), I gave the trailer bed a rattle can paint job.

Next custom move was to cut out for a tailgate to make loading, cooking and camping easier: Chains added to hold the tailgate level with the bed.

    Military Trailer Overland Build

Thought I would share this build of 1/4 M100 Army trailer I found decades ago in an apple orchard, discarded. I gave it some life. Now I'm building it into more of an overlanding trailer. This is how they normally look stock. What the Army did with them. More pics shortly, but so you...

    Windy Desert Cooking

The folding goodie I used is something I found at a sporting goods store (or Wally) many moons ago. It's a wind break or folding wind shield for stoves. Amazon has them. Yes.

Trust! In Four-Wheeling Adventures and Peeps

Trust! In Your Gear, Rig, and Homies? It’s time to turn up your inner four-wheeler. This is probably the most important message you’ll ever hear about the off-pavement, overlanding, adventure-based lifestyle. Trust! Have you asked yourself just who you (really) trust to spot your rig...

Tips on Letting Out Your Inner Land Use

I am sharing this article I wrote ( from another forum) because it makes so much sense with our Trail Guardian program. Del Actions Speak Louder Than Words Let’s say you’re on a trail ride with your club/friends, and someone throws a cigarette butt out the window. Or how about “that guy” you...
