Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
2WD well marked forest highways basically for the most part. Evening/night travel should be fine. @Kent R has been to base camp and as soon as he's back online, he can chime in and verify.
Yea, ok, I'm with ya. You can still find Nuvi's on ebay and such...I've been thru 4 of them. The one I have now is still mostly kinda sorta working. That is why Garmin discontinued them. They locked up.
I've been waiting for a few years for Garmin to replace what many of us had "back when." -- the Garmin Nuvi 500, turn by turn with topo and trails. Small unit. Very detailed, 24k topo maps (chips) and 100k if you wanted. No downloading before trips; no mixing other things with your GPS...
We are assigning teams and jobs very soon on Post Wildfire OHV Recovery Alliance. Teams will be doing Barrier Installation; Signage; Trail Repairs; Culvert Cleaning; and more.
One thing I will bring up if the audience is interested is how personalities and egos seem to rule our recreational choices way too often., and sometimes drive off overlanders from other types of clubs/groups. I call it "egonomics."
