Arizona backcountry discovery route in April

Too bad you're not thinking about May. I'm hoping to do the AZBDR in May with a stop in Flagstaff for the Overland Expo.

Recovery Board Color: What are your preferred Color Choices?

Anything I have that's going to routinely be left on the ground is some obnoxious neon color. Especially hunting knives. But Maxtrax too. Our first pair is neon green, because it's our grandson's fave. The second set is orange. The Griptilians are orange and yellow. The Moras are neon...

We always used tincture of benzoin as an adhesive. Is Mastisol better because of less risk of allergic reaction?

    Your Camping Tables Recommendations...

We use the 48" Lifetime table too. It fits right behind the rear seat in our van. Plus, it's cheap, sturdy, and height adjustable. Even cheaper because we already had it before we got our van. Kinda heavy, though. Did I mention it's cheap? In addition, we have a little folding table, a...

    overland expo west 2020

If all goes as planned, I am going take the van up the AZBDR, south to north, with a stop at EXPO to look for goodies for my new ZR2! Told myself last year I probably wouldn't go this year, but now I am needing skid plates, winch bumper, radios, etc, etc...

Bow saw or other for small firewood chores?

I've had a Sven saw since my dad used to carry one when we went camping back in the old days. Works great for smaller stuff, firewood, etc. Thinking of getting an electric chain saw for bigger stuff, though.

    Subaru Owners Registry

Thanks Matt, It was a great car! Biggest problem offroad is the WRX's lack of grunt at the bottom end. I ended up slipping the clutch a lot when going slow and steep. The torque doesn't really build until the higher revs when the turbo is full on. Great for bombing around on dirt roads...

    DIY traction board tire mount?

Not on the spare but I mounted ours on the side of our galley box with 4 long bolts and some star knobs from Grainger. Cost about $10. We now have 2 pairs on the same mount instead of just one.

    Subaru Owners Registry

Just sold my 2002 WRX wagon. Bought it new in 2001. Buyer was a former Subie mechanic and was very excited. Lifted with King springs, KYBs, and General Grabbers. Skids from Primitive. Leather seats, strut tower braces front and rear, intercooler sprayer, Hella Supertones, Borla exhaust...

    Hi from Albuquerque

I'm new to the Forum and new to overlanding in general. We camped and I guess we overlanded a lot in our old VW bus when we were kids. I remember taking the dirt road along the river from Grand Junction to Moab and camping at Arches National Monument. But then college bicycle racing and work...
