    New Mexico Overlanders

The 11th should work for us, too. It'd be fine with us if others join in.

    Missoula Area Must Sees

Philipsburg brewery in, of all places, Philipsburg. Very cool. And near good fishing on Rock Creek. Skalkaho road between Hamilton and Rock Creek is an easy graded road but a beautiful drive through the mountains.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Installed lights in the camper shell of my truck. Wired through the factory bed light switch. It's like an operating room in there!

    about shaffer trail ...

We went down the Shafer switchbacks and out to Moab past the potash mine in our 4wd sprinter. Easy-peasy, no problems at all. Going up the switchbacks might be a little easier on the faint of heart, but going down is just spectacular. Either way, it's easy and well worth it for the views...

    2019 Colorado ZR2 Build

Nice truck, just got one at the beginning of December! Still plain jane except for some Rago shock skids. Waiting 'til after expo to buy anything else. I had plasti dipped my wheels on my Subie wagon in Jan 2014 and they still looked OK when I sold it this month, sitting in the NM sun all...

BLM is seeking comment on public land with no legal access

Patric's insight above is probably correct. We only have dealt with access to public land leased for grazing, usually for 10 year periods. It makes sense that other leases for residences, etc., would be different.

BLM is seeking comment on public land with no legal access

My statements above applies only to Federal public lands. Rules for state trust lands vary by state, though. Many states are much more restrictive than the Feds regarding use of state public land. For example, in NM, state trust lands leased for grazing are effectively treated like the...

BLM is seeking comment on public land with no legal access

I don't think that is correct. BLM land that is leased for grazing is still open for public use. The leaseholder cannot exclude people from using the leased land for recreational use. They have every right, though, to not allow people to cross their private land in order to access the BLM...

BLM is seeking comment on public land with no legal access

Last year, I think, OnXmaps and TRCP mapped the inaccessible public lands in the western states. The amount of land is staggering, 6.35 million acres in 11 states! This represents land that is completely inaccessible without surrounding landholder permission (or air support). I'm sure they...
