Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I nabbed Blue Ridge Overland Gear's Deal of the Day. It is their recovery strap bag with two of their soft shackles and an ARB snatch strap. Looking forward to adding that to the X.
I'm probably going with a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3 in 285/75/16. I had considered a set of more aggressive tires but in all honesty, I've had great service out of the two sets of these I've had.
I get decent fuel mileage, they ride good and are quiet on the highway which is nice since we...
Not today but yesterday, we went up on the mountain in Highland County to work the Virginia QSO Party amateur radio contest. Bands were dead but we managed about 100 contacts including Louisiana and Texas and had a pretty good time.
I thought that was what you meant, but I wasn't sure if I was missing something. You had to have a fire pit when they hosted the RTT Rally last fall. I'm going to be hashing all that out with John and will post up. Plan on bringing something to cook on though.
If we can get the field, which we should be able to I think, we'll have the whole place to ourselves.
I'll hopefully have a date next week and I'll set-up a rally point for it. Then as details come, I'll keep everyone posted.
Ok folks, I'm still looking at my calendar and have to talk with John to see what's available at the park, but I thought I'd post up to see what everyone's thoughts are.
I don't have a ton of free time right now so I'm going to try to keep this thing simple.
Probably a Saturday to Sunday...
We really loved our Suburban but there's no way we'd be able to get one through most of the trails here on the east coast without plenty of body damage. Best of luck to you! I think you'll love it.
I just used mine for the first time a few weeks ago. I was wanting to test it out and had some bagel bites in the freezer so I set my table and stove up on the porch. Even fired my 50's 228E up to provide some light as the sun went down.
We have one of the 4' Lifetime folding tables as well. We usually stay places that have picnic tables so we have not used it at camp yet, but I've set it up several times and fixed supper on my stove at home. It works pretty well and I'll looking forward to getting it out this year.
Our cook...
I owned a Cherokee for about 8 years. It was a great vehicle. It was rust in the "frame" tubes above the rear axle that cast the deciding vote to sell it and move on. When I went looking for a replacement, I decided I wanted body on frame for the added rigidity.
There were several times...
If you just bought your vehicle, I would suggest first replacing all the shocks, fluids, and then researching any chronic issues they have. Join a LC forum where that info will be readily available and then get that squared away first.
Having to turn away from a trail because you don't have...
Wal-Mart has the 2 person stainless mess kit for $5 on clearance right now. I've been looking at it so I bought all four sets they had in stock. That'll set me up with one 5 person kit for the family and one three piece for my personal box that stays in the Xterra.
If you're asking what people have available, I started this thread a while back with a poll to give people an idea of what's commonly used. The thread isn't so much about the merit of any of them, just an indication of what people have...
