    Shopping for a Rubicon

Some of it is, other things are worth the cost. Can't say I've found a steel stamped bumper of similar quality for a JK. As far as suspension goes, I think the OP wanted something that was offered by the dealer for warranty purposes. I have a Teraflex lift, and I find nothing wrong with it, it...

Moab, Utah - To do trails?

Overnight, as far as difficulty goes I like mild to moderate, but I am not into serious rock crawling.

    Hema maps app

Whats your favorite feature on Gaia?

    Hema maps app

Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to disagree with you. After all, this is a community that fosters learning and knowledge. What I am saying, is that both applications are offer a GPS service. Your comparison of phones isn't really relevant given that these two apps are direct competitors. But...

    Hema maps app

Both apps use satellites to position you on the globe, which is a fair comparison, unless Gaia has some alien technology we're not aware of. Like I mentioned, call a spade a spade. Both apps will serve an Overlander just fine. Its personal preference on which to use, what makes one better than...

    Hema maps app

This is true, their mapping is really great. On a software level, Gaia and Hema pretty much look the same, and honestly, they're GPS apps.. they literally function the same. Call a spade a spade, you know. I think it all comes down to your preference, you can't go wrong with either, they'll both...

Moab, Utah - To do trails?

I'm trying to use the last of my vacation days, already have all other trips planned. Playing with the idea of going somewhere down south (USA), but was most interested in peoples opinions on trails in the Moab area to decide if it was for me. Thanks for the book recommendation!

OB Approved This is for everyone, OVERLANDING Safety in numbers!

Thanks for the share. I think what resonates the most is knowing your limits and playing within them, like others said. We can't all read the future, but knowing when 1+1 = shit is an important thing in the bush.

    Shopping for a Rubicon

Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep sell AEV products. If you like AEV, you could look into having their parts installed in favor of Mopar which should also cover your warranty, so long as its installed at the dealer. I can't recall who makes the Mopar kit, but for some reason Teraflex rings a bell, but I'm...

    Hema maps app

Ah yeah, you need to create multiple points (like google earth), it won't follow a random track in the woods. It will for known roads, though (like that of a highway).

    Hema maps app

Yes, you can do routing on Hema.

Moab, Utah - To do trails?

I am thinking about planning a longer trip this year, possibly Moab. First off, what are your favorite trails and what do you recommend? Second, is anyone planning a trip to Moab this year and accepting company?

    2014 Jeep Wrangler JKU

Today was a good day. Today I mounted a set of BFG KO2's onto the Jeep, to replace the Goodyear MTR/K. But this time, I got them in the 37" size, because I know BFG's run small. Basically, they are less than an inch taller than the 35" MTR/K I took off.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Mounted some 37" KO2's on my JK, cause I couldn't get it done yesterday :)

    Awesome bumper, who makes it?

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

I was supposed to install 37" BFG KO2s (which actually measure out to be 0.5" taller than my 35" MTR/K). Unfortunately I had to cancel my mount and balance appointment, so hopefully tomorrow. Excited!

    Tire Valve Stems on trail

It really is a great wheel. The inset lug nuts is good too, but can also be a pain in the ass if one gets stripped or over torqued.

Brand new to overlanding in general-2003 suburban

Well, it looks like you have 9.8" front ground clearance, and 8.4" rear ground clearance. All things considered, given your environments I'd say that's too bad at all. A good set of tires will benefit you the most off the beaten track, in my opinion anyhow. Maybe some Maxtrax's if you think...
