  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

    British Columbia Meetup/Rally

Is that right? That is good information, because it would be a bummer to get up there and have that trouble. Is it fenced off near the turn off by the old truck carcass and old fenced in pasture area? And on that subject, can you recommend any other areas to explore around...

    British Columbia Meetup/Rally

I'm doing French Mines with a friend from San Diego on April 28th and 29th, before he goes on a cruise to Alaska. That's not really central, though.

Trying to get the people interested in a trip to suggest a date, but I don't think there is much interest this summer.

    Shopping for a Rubicon

Depending on how the last owner treated that vehicle. I'm always weary about used, unless there is a detailed log of maintenance and receipts for all parts.

Subtle Quality Features of OB Forums

I never completely noticed the no ads thing, until you mentioned it. It's so refreshing to not have to look at random google ad sense stuff, and also not having to deal with "Approved" or "Sponsored" vendors and be shamed if you don't buy xyz product. I think we all appreciate that. Also never...

    Shopping for a Rubicon

All the Wranglers perform the Rubicon trail stock, so I'd say they're all pretty capable. Great vehicle, can't go wrong :)

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

I am very fortunate to be in a position where I can build the rig of my dreams, so I am grateful for that. I always try to buy the best quality I can to avoid things from going wrong in the field, but nothing is bullet proof.

    Shopping for a Rubicon

Absolutely agree with the ring and pinion. I'd rather snap an axle shaft than blow your ring and pinion, so the D44 is better in that respect. Like @9Mike2 said though, the benefit of the 4:1 suites certain types of trips, more so than others. But it looks like you've got a good handle on your...

    Shopping for a Rubicon

Mike is pretty accurate, the only reason I would buy a Rubicon would be for the front 44, but even at that it's not a true 44. The Rubi 44 uses the same C's and housing that the 30 uses. It's a "hybrid 44".
